Q: 5 Weeks Ultrasound No Embryo Seen

When I went to the doctor about flu symptoms and cramping, they sent me to the ER because they thought I might be having an ectopic pregnancy they gave me the vaginal ultrasound (which makes everything appear 10 times bigger) and the regular one.

They saw an egg sac but no embryo, they said it might be to early to see the embryo, or I might miscarry because there really is not one.

Is 5 weeks really to early to see something?

5 weeks is really early, doesnt surprise me at all they didnt see a baby yet. Lots of woman from my other pregnancy board had this happen, then went back in 2-3 weeks and saw the embryo. I wouldn't worry too much just yet.

i've heard that 5 weeks is very early and many women don't see anything then. by 6 weeks they should be able to see something.

good luck!

Schedule another ultrasound, I would say, and just keep an eye out for anything unusual...I hope everything's okay.
