Colonoscopy Prep/did I Mess It Up? Posted: 12-30-07 16:40pm
I am scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow.
I was supposed to take a potassium pill
yesterday at noon and forgot. I took the
second one today at noon that I was
supposed to take today. Today I am
supposed to be on a clear liquid diet and
besides the potassium pills, I am also
supposed to drink Fleet Phospho Soda today
between 3:00pm - 7:00pm today and also
tomorrow morning at 7:30am. I am doing
everything I'm supposed to do except for
the potassium pill I was supposed to take
yesterday afternoon.
It is Sunday today, so I can't call the
hospital's surgical center or the doctor
to ask them about this because they are
closed. My colonoscopy is tomorrow. What
is the purpose of the potassium pills, and
did I mess this colonoscopy prep by
forgetting to take this potassium pill
yesterday, or is this ok?
My appointment is for 11:30am tomorrow
morning. I have to be there at 10:30am

I think you will be fine. are you going to
the bathroom clear? watery?potassium pill
is not to clean you out and that is the
most impostant part.. if you go in and you
colon is not cleaned out then they will
send you to do prep over again..
