Ovulating after childbirth
Posted: 12-31-07 13:40pm

I just had my baby a month and five days ago and my fiancee and I have already had sex before that. Is it possible that I have ovulated already?

Even if you did ovulate, chances are you cannot get pregnant or ovulate (or if you did, it would be a normal egg loss) because your hormones have not gone back to normal. It is not medically recommended to have sex for the first 4 weeks after the baby is born, and it is also advisable to wait at least 6 weeks as well.

You probably have hardly stopped with your postpartum discharge.

Your body needs time to recuperate.
