Your statement was - Having an unplanned pregnancy (at any age) is not always about ignorance. Sometimes people use protected (be it pill, shot, ring ,iuds, tubes tied or condoms and it still happens. This is life it happens.

Heres my response(s) -
If you are on birth control + condom + anything else that you may use to prevent an unplanned pregnancy, and are consistent with it, having an unplanned pregnancy occur is less likely to happen. But that means - being on top of every action you take! Using your birth control consistently, using a condom when having sex etc. But even with using a condom, don't stop there! Do not allow him to ejaculate inside of you just because he is using a condom. Having him "pull out" and ejaculate inside the condom lessens the chance of any semen reaching the vagina. Also - there are ways in calculating your "most fertile" days so you know, whens a good chance NOT to have sexual relations! But as you all should know - even though using different forums of birth control lessens the chance for an unplanned pregnancy, - theres always that slight chance of a pregnancy occurring. The only 100% effective way in knowing that you will not become pregnant is by abstinence.

In general - If you cannot handle the responsibility that comes from having sex - re-thinking the idea to wait on having sex until you can take care of your responsibilities would be a good thing! You where mature enough, when it came down to making that "adult decision" to have sex, then you need to be mature enough into taking the actions into learning what the consequences might be from having sex!

Another statement of yours - I placed my eldest son for adoption when he was 6 mths old. Granted it was to a family member. But I can not think of one person who handed their child over for adoption that felt this way. It is very hard emtionally to place a child for adoption. But your right sometimes it is the best option for the child and mother alike.

handing my child off like a piece of cargo is how i feel about adoption - for myself! I wouldn't be able to function, knowing that someone else has taken my place as their mother because of my "selfish ways"! Maybe those choice of words were "offensive" to the ones that chose to give up their child - but thats my description on how i feel about adoption! (At least for myself). I would rather bust my butt off, do anything possible just to have a life with my child! I knew, that by having sex, a possible pregnancy would occur. I would of taken that into consideration while making the decision to have sex, so I knew what those consequences where!

But on the other hand - there are some situations where i believe giving your child up for adoption is commendable. Say you where molested, raped etc and you know, deep down, that you wouldn't be able to give the child the love/life it deserves - then adoption would be the best choice! To go through all the trials and tribulations that you go through during a pregnancy/labor to turn around and give your child up is very commendable! I'd have to consider someone like this a hero!

You should already know the consequences that comes from having sex! Maybe abstinence would be a good thing for you, if having another baby is completely out of the question! Yeah - you can use all types of different forums of birth control - but they are not 100% effective! Only way of knowing that you will not have a pregnancy occur is by obtaining from sex! Instead of being selfish, using "abortion' as a form of birth control, try using your head!

thats completely wrong and pulling out doesnt do anything at all. have you ever herd of precum? yeah that has sperm in it. so right there in your statement was wrong info. it means nothing by pulling out with or without a condom on

Having sex and being irresponsible is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT then being in a situation where rape/molestation is token place! You can't even compare the two!

I think that it is wrong to kill an innocent being because you where not mature enough to take responsibility in knowing that sex MAY lead into a pregnancy!

On the other hand - theres rape! I honestly cannot answer the question "if abortion would be the right method ". I don't know if i would be able to carry a rapists child for 9 months, or let alone, be able to give this child the love he/she deserves!! Becoming pregnant right now would RUIN my life. I would lose all of the freedoms I have as a young adult if I kept the baby, and because my mother has it in her head that she won't let me hand out my child for adoption and IF I do, I think she'd disown me. So then I'd be graduated from college, broke, having just given birth, and without a home or a job. I could maybe get into the Air Force, if they accept women so soon after giving birth.

No, I'd opt for abortion and avoid that whole mentally, physically, and financially traumatizing mess thanks very much.
