If it's so concerning that people allegedly die from marijuana, why not smoke salvia? it's a fairly 'new' drug, but it can be smoked, can produce a pretty extreme (yet short) trip and has shown no ill effects on human health. It isn't even illegal.

Off-topic, but does anyone else find it a little scary that the OP has been a member here about six months and has close to 12,000 posts? Man, I thought I had no life. And considering the OP, according to her profile, is doing the world's most important job , should she not be spending her time with Junior rather than serial posting on the internet?

nothing wrong with smoking weed i would rather have a pot head than a pisshead any day of the week how many times do you hear of a guy coming home pissed andbeating the crap out of his partner compared to how many times a pot head comes home stoned and beats his partner? weed relaxes you and is very theraputic for diseases like ms and certian cancers leave pot smokers alone and deal with societys main problem ie alcohol.

wow, powerfull post. I think each person has a choice. I started smoking pot when I was 13 and thats all I did. I dropped out of 8th grade and partied. I forgot everything I learned because of the pot. I am now a college student with a 8th grade math level. I smoked all day every day for 5 years. I eventually got into alcohol and hard drugs like speed and cocaine.

I had a horrible childhood. I used and abused pot to escape. I did not care about school. Thats why I stopped learning and never continued. Did pot lead me to other drugs? NO. My mother gave me my first hit of speed. My mom had a man selling heroin from our house as kids. I picked up drugs because of my situation. Wouldnt you? So pot never led me to disaster and other things. My choices did.

I got a job when I was 14 and have had the same one since I was 15. I smoked the entire time. Pot didnt make me do anything, it didnt stop me from succeeding. I stopped myself. I had an addictive personality.

IF anyone lets pot overtake their life then they have a problem with themselves. They are hiding, running, or trying to forget something in themselves.

i know lots of potheads. they are a dime a dozen. and yeah, they are defensive because you can't say anything bad about pot without getting jumped on. i didn't even say i thought that people shouldn't smoke it, i just said how *i* feel about it and peoples backs get up. but you must never blaspheme the almighty weed, i learned that a long time ago when i lost friends to it. they can't stand to be around a sober person when they, themselves can't go a day without it. do whatever you want with your brain, i really couldn't care less. i just don't want anything to do with people acting stupid around me.

I don't have a problem with someone's opinion regarding marijuana. What really gets my dander up is throwing around statements that are sweeping generalizatioins about "potheads" and their dependability, contribution to society, and worth. It makes me very angry and very sad to think that people would have this opinion of me if they knew about my extracuricular activities. I actually have a certificate to use it for medical purposes provided to me by my physician and am registered with the state government where I live. I have friends who do smoke, and friends who do not smoke. The person I get it from grows it just for me. He is my designated caregiver. He is not a thug or a criminal. He is a botany major and owns a seperate business. I just want people to stop generalizing about MJ users, because just like people who sip wine or get slobbering drunk daily, MJ use varies greatly from person to person. I don't really think I "act stupid" when I am using it, either. Admittedly, my use is very light compared to some of the people I know, but I don't "need it" to function on a daily basis.

There areother ways of utilizing the drug aside from smoking it. As birch pointed out earlier, you can consume it in baked goods. Also by using a vaporizer, which burns at a temperature which only combusts the THC crystals, and not the actual greenery itself, the exposure to possible carcinogens is greatly reduced.

way before i started smokeing pot i did HEAVY cocaine. after i got out of juvy i stopped cocaine. but not pot. never ONCE since then have i gone back and did ANY DRUG besids "pot". it does not control my life

travis smokes pot. he is a great father. and i dont appertiate ANYONE saying hes a loser. because hes FAAAR from that.
and when my child grows up id rather have her smoke pot then smoke cigarettes or drink beer which can KILL HER and other people.
