Recovery from stroke is very difficult, almost impossible, because destroyed brain tissue can not be rebuilt. Consequences depends from the location and amount of brain damage. It also depends from presence of risk factors: high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, hearth disorders etc. If these risk factors are present there is a risk for another stroke. People with stroke, if paralyzed, are also susceptible to develop infections which worsen the prognosis.
