Hello Everyone,
I cannot be still any longer.
There are a number of advertisements on
this forum that make me very concerned.
PLEASE be very careful not to accept at
face value the contents in the ads. Do
your research first and do it well
regarding the advertised claims.

Thanks, Dyan ... I think Rich is concerned
about the ads by Google that we publish
next to the content. As we have no
editorial control over what is sent to our
site, we cannot (at this time) pick and
choose what is displayed. We're working
on it, though.

death clock pop up ad

Hi
I agree with RichT about some of these
advertisements. I just posted a reply and
the person lost her pet. The ad next to
her post that popped up was when will I
die?
It's the death clock ad. I have seen it
many times and it is disturbing to people
who suffered a loss or for people who are
very depressed, heck even a little
depressed.
I know you don't have control over what is
being sent to the site but I just needed
to get that off my chest.
Thanks for letting me vent on this one.

Can you send me the link to the forum
where you saw this ad, please? I'll take
a look at it...

It pops up every so often usually in the
first post of the thread.
Next time I see it I'll let you know.
Thanks

You should use a pop-up blocker. I never
see any of these ads!

I have a pop up blocker and it comes on
the forum page that I happen to be on.

I was just going to ask what ads because I
have never seen any. Adblock Plus and
Mozilla Firefox are great at not showing
all that junk

Don't the advertisements just keep the
site going as in public funding? Do you
mean the websites shown around the sides..
I don't pay much attention.

This one website about death time clock is
the one that bothers me the most. I can
understand health related pop up
ads/advertisements but this one is down
right sickening.
Maybe I'll switch over to Mozilla I have
it on my computer but haven't use it yet.
You get use to one program but I know my
kids use both. They said it's no different
than the one I use now.

Firefox is much cleaner and lighter all
round. IE dumps all kinds of rubbish in
your browser.

The main reason why I started using MF was
because IE would always have an error and
shut down. Drove me crazy. Then when I
found out about all the cool stuff that it
had and IE didn't, I wasn't going back to
IE unless there was something that MF
wouldn't run.
Oh, if you install MF, don't uninstall IE.
It will mess up your computer and plus
it's still handy to have because MF won't
run some programs on some websites...it's
rare, but it sometimes happens to me.

You can say that again...all these
flavours, versions and what not is enough
to drive a person carzy...I'm glad I'm a
software developer and not a web
developer...
