Well, I went in for my 35 week
appointment. My bp was okay, urine was
good and he said my weight was fine. I
didn't know they were going to do it but I
had my group b strep test and got checked
again today. Last time I was checked they
said I was 1cm 50% effaced and at -2
station. Today he said that I'm still 1cm
but I'm now 70% effaced and she's
definitely much lower than she was last
time. He also said that after next Friday
he would no longer stop my labor because
the risks of the medicine would outweigh
the benefits. He thinks everything is
looking good though.
I do have one question. I am allergic to
pretty much all the safe antibiotics
during pregnancy (penicillin,
cephlasporins, and erythromycin). If I
were to be group b strep positive does
anyone know what they might do? I know
they normally give penicillin but I
obviously can't be given that. Just
thought I would ask. I didn't want to ask
the doc until after the results came in.

I am allergic to the mycins and cillians
as well. I was group b positive with my
first child. They found something. I guess
those allergies are common. You will be
fine. Just remind them. It is usually in
big red letters on your chart.

That's good to know. I hope I'm not
positive so I don't even have to worry
about it.

I am allergic to penicillin as well and I
think that they gave me Clindamycin when I
was in labour. All I know is that I was on
iv drip for it from the time my water
broke until I had Chandler. They had told
me that if my water broke at home to get
in as soon as possible because it has to
be started as soon as they can afterwards.
Everything worked out well.
