I had a young man, who is like a sibling
to me, approach me the other day for
money. He stated that he had $60 and
needed another $120 to purchase a woman
that he was with the night prior "the
morning after shot". He had used a condom,
but unfortunately it had broke and as a
result he wanted to be on the safe side
and take her in for a morning after pill.
She had stated in the past that the
standard birth control pill had given her
problems and wanted "the shot" instead.
From everything I have read, I have not
seen anything on a "morning after shot"
only a shot that is used similar to birth
control and will only be administered
after a negative pregnancy test. Does a
morning after shot exist? If so, does it
have milder side effects than the morning
after pill (which I know acts nothing like
birth control)? Finally, how much would
such a shot cost?

The morning after pill ACTS JUST LIKE
REGULAR BIRTH CONTROL.
I am a health care professional.. That
statement you made is just plain wrong.
Morning after pill PREVENTS ovulation. IF
you have already ovulated, it basically is
not going to have much of any effect.

No, there is no morning after shot.
There is the morning after pill, which is
effective if used within five days of sex
(most effective in three days)
Or sometimes they'll insert an IUD as an
emergency procedure for this reason.
