Q: 5 month old baby pregnant again ?

Hello, I am new to this forum. i have a 5 month old baby girl and just found out yesterday I am pregnant again. I am scared because my 1st child was born 5 weeks early and was not quite ready to be born when she was. She spent 10 days in the NICU. She was delivered by c-section. I am scared that having a second baby so close after my first one, will cause the same thing to happen again or have my incision open. Has anyone else had an experiance like this or can offer advice. I'm definitley having the baby. I just don't know what to expect with this pregnancy.

Extremely eHealthy
Your body hasn't fully recovered from the pregnancy with your daughter. Eat as healthy as possible and don't forget your pre-natal vitamins. As for your incision, try not to over do it. If you get any type of abdominal acheness, stop what you are doing. and of course if you start bleeding, go to the ER immediately. My friend and her brother were 10 months apart and both were c-section, and mom did fine. Depending on why your daughter was born early, depends on if this one will be early as well. If it had to do with your health, more than likely they will have to take this one early as well, only because it's more likely you'll have the same problem. If it was with the baby, it's more likely you'll go to term, or at least 38wks if doc wants to do another C.

hi. I fell pregnant with my 2nd baby when my first was only 6 weeks old. So there is 10 1/2 months between mine. Although it is best to leave more time for oyur body to recover, I had no problems. I also fell pregnant with my 3rd when number 2 was 5 months old and my body was fine.

Congrats

My cousin had her two girls only a touch under a year apart. They are just days apart. She had c-sections with both and did fine for the most part she just had to take it a little easy while being pregnant. Her hardest thing was she is a single mom (the dad left her right before she found out she was pregnant again and didn't come back when she found out) and she couldn't pick her first born up. Luckly her mom got her to move back around her so she could help out as much as she could.

Well congrats and I hope all goes well for you! I would talk to your Dr about your concerns as well they might give you some tips!
