Well I am nearly 36 weeks, and I am so ready to have him. The complications have been unreal, now I cant fit into any shoes, not even crocs, my feet or SO swollen. My urine tested Positive for sugar, so I know have to watch for Gest Diab. My BP is up, my heart rate is still through the rough. I can barely move cause of back pain.
I just hope he comes early, I really do.
Sorry to complain so much, just needed to vent, my poor Husband is tired of hearing all of this.
Are all of these normal and I should be quiet, or am I having a few too many problems???
I hope everyone else is doing well!!!!

Gosh well just one problem is enough already Razz

I tested positive for sugar in my urine once, but they took a blood test and my glucose levels were fine. It was only because I had eaten ice cream for dinner the night before and put a ton of sugar on my cereal just that morning. They should do a blood test when they find sugar to make sure it's really your condition and not something you just ate.....because that's what your body is supposed to do: get rid of the excess of your little binge Wink

Drinking pineapple juice will help with the swelling. I found that taking a bath in epsom salts was REALLY effective at getting rid of my swelling once. I only had it really bad during one of my pregnancies and I just dumped the whole 3 lb bag or whatever it was in the tub and soaked for an hour. That took care of it and I never had problems again for the rest of the pregnancy.

I don't know what you can do about BP. Mine has always been low, so I've never explored ways to keep it down, except keep things low-key. I have super bad back pain too. I recently got this medication that is safe at the end of pregnancy (I'm 38 weeks) called Ultracet which you can ask your doctor to prescribe for you. It is a combination of Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Tramadol. It supposedly gives the same relief as a narcotic like oxycodone or hydrocodone without the narcotic effect. I've been taking it a couple days and I think I've seen a slight improvement with my pain, but I'm not sure if I'm liking the side effects (nausea)....but the nausea could be from something I ate, so I'm giving it a little more of a go.

I'm so ready to have my baby too and I don't envy you being at 36 weeks Razz It seems like forever waiting for it all to just be over! Better out than in is what I say lol. Good luck.

aww well thank you, I will try the salts...cause I actually have no shoes to wear...something needs to happen. I have been avoiding acetametophen for all the headaches I experience, cause I am already taking a thyroid medicatin regularly, so I wanted to reduce meds. But I think I am gonna have to cave in and take it more often for other aches and pains too.
Thank you for all your advice mominashoe, congrats on your pregnancy, and from your pic, I should be saying congrats on your 6th baby????
Take care, you are so close!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time too. I'll be 36 weeks in a few days as well. I've been on pre term labor meds since I was 30 weeks-which make you feel like crap-so I can sympathize as far as feeling bad. I have dealt with horrible contractions for about the past 10 weeks total. I just wish that if I have to have contractions that it would mean something and not be for nothing. As of Friday, they will no longer stop my labor though. As bad as I feel, I'm ready. I would be okay if she stayed in until 37 weeks but if I go much further than that I don't know if I'd be able to make it. What you're feeling is normal right now. The end of pregnancy sucks but will be worth it in the end. Pm me if it gets to be too much.

Oh yeah, be glad you don't have PUPPS. All I can do now is scratch all day. LOL!

I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, so I can sympathize with you about the wanting the baby here.

Thankfully, I haven't had any complications though.

The advice that Mominashoe has given you, you should try.

drink loads of water for the swelling as well!

I really hope you start feeling better! Pregnancy can be a bummer at the end!!

We're all here for you if you need us!!! Wink

I have hypertension, I was pregnant at 28 (he is 2) and I knew my BP was high at times it runs in the family but when I got pregnant it went down to a normal level. I was like ooh nice. Then toward the 4th month it started to rise and just kept going up over the weeks. Well along with placenta previa this made my pregnancy even more high risk and they insisted on seeing me ALL the time. The placenta previa moved up they said and I was cleared for vaginal delivery in the last few weeks, it was annoying though I didnt know if I was going to have to have a c-section which I really didnt want but I didnt it was a lot of stress for nothing. I was very sure that even though my BP was high everything was fine but they would make me do 24hr urine test like every week and blood omg they took so much blood I was sick of it all because I was fine. Well I had every minor thing wrong with me that could be. Things I didnt even know could happen. Itching for one, relentless terrible itching, I couldnt sleep! It could be a form of torture because there was no relief and it just didnt stop lol they said it was all the hormones. I hadnt slept in 3 days no joke when I went in to get induced. I was admited once at about 7 or 8 months ended up just being overnight but extemely annoying. If they had there way I would have been induced very early and hosipitilized for half the pregnancy! and that would have been totally unneccisary.
But the thing is your signs of high BP and swelling say preclamsia all over them. Thats the one thing that made me know even tho my bp was high I was ok, I had no major swelling and if I had it would have been over I wouldnt have been able to keep the doctors off me anymore ;p with good reason its dangerous to you both so inform your doctor of ALL your symptoms to be sure you dont end up with a serious problem. I didnt get swelling like that until after L&D. They pumped me so full of fluids when I was there and it didnt go away for weeks you could barely see that bone in my ankle and my foot was so fat especially if I did any walking even chores around the house. Prop them up and epsom soaks but first you need to be sure its not diabetes or preclampsia which is what they though I had(preclampsia) but I didnt have it yet but I had all the things that cause you to get it if that makes sense. One other thing you may want to know about with the high blood pressure, when I was induced they give you teh cardboard thing to get it started in your vagina then in teh morning they start the pitocon, I opted for a epideral at that point I had already been in labor all night, and when I got It I was like whew omg so good this isnt going to be so bad then after hooking up the pitocin to me the midwife says (in hospital MW) now for your high BP we are going to also give you magnesium to keep it down because if it gets too high you could seizure and harm yourself or the baby, she said it will make me feel a little bleh. I said what do you mean bleh cause I dont liek pills and stuff they make me sick im sensative to anything that might make you nauseus.
She said well it jsut makes some people feel a little yucky. Well that little yucky turned into pucking my guts out all day (its a continuous IV mind you) in labor and not progressing a bit. It also go to where I couldnt focus or really control my muscles I was very week and heavy feeling. SHe explained at this point it was the magnesium for the BP it basically relaxs your muscles and lower BP well it also makes it hard to fucus because it even affects your eye muscles I didnt like it at all it was so pathetic to feel like that. I couldnt even hold my son when he was born my arms didnt work. Well I was on the last bag of pitocin they were going to allow before they jsut went to csection with no progression all day. ANd the magnesium ran out well I didnt tell them and they got really busy the hospital was flooding with woman in labor so I ahd liek 2 hours without them coming to check on me, I started feeling better stopped throwing up and finally someone came in to say hey its time to opt for surgery and they checked me and I was fully Dialated and ready to push, I got my vaginal birth after all. But after all of it I almost wished I jsut had a sched c sec. Anyway my point is I will never allow them to give me magnesium again for the BP, I read later its used to STOP labor. I mean come on you cant give me something that stops labor and pitocin at the same time! We are trying for another now and im not sure my rights but I hope I can refuse the magnesium next time I eman what can I do I will be in bed with an epidural. do I have the right?if they think its best?
Anyway Im so sorry this was so long but I want to say your not alone Im so sorry your so miserable but its not much longer and you probably will get induced a bit early if that bp keeps up. Just stay strong and please make sure your doctor is fully informed of all your symptoms and take it easy most of all. Dont over do it during the day. Good luck I hope everyhting goes perfectly and its a breeze and before you know it your home with your baby in bliss :p
