Liver Pain on right side of pelvis after drinking Posted: 01-07-08 22:30pm
Alright so I've been drinking for about 3
years.. once every weekend usually, not
really that often though. Some times I'll
go a month without drinking. But the
weekend before last, and last weekend, I
had about 8 units of alcohol (I think)
during each drinking session. The next
day, (I'm assuming) my liver is sore. It
doesn't really hurt at all, it's just kind
of uncomfortable. This weekend it has
actually lasted over 24 hours, I drank
Saturday night and it is still kind of
sore. It is also a bit sore on the right
side of my pelvis like between my belly
button and the top of my right leg. This
has never happened when I've had only 2 or
3 beers, but I can get pretty tipsy off 2
or 3 beers so maybe I just have a low
tolerance. This has never happened to any
of my friends. Should I be worried? I
discovered that I rarely drink water when
drinking alcohol. Maybe this is part of
it. I have no family history of any sort
of liver disease, and this has only
happened the past two weekends, I've
definitely gotten as drunk as that before
and this didn't happen. Anyone know if
this is a bad sign and should I see a
doctor?

Sounds more like an intestinal upset but
no one here can tell you what it is. You
need to have it checked out by a
professional if it is worrying you.
