Q: hcg levels and pregnancy tests

Should hCG levels be high enough for a HPT to detect 4-5 weeks after conception? Just took a test on the 18th of December and the 4th of January and both came out negative, supposedly may have conceived around 4 to 5 weeks ago, although I had my period in December. I am supposed to get my period sometime this weekend. Should I wait a little longer and test again in a week maybe? When would hCG levels be high enough to get a positive pregnancy test?

You will not get a result via urine before your missed period. Once you have missed a period the pregnancy test will be more accurate.
If you really need to know, go see a dr and they can do a blood test to tell you if you have HCG in your blood, which can usually be seen within3-6days of conception, much sooner then urine.
