small blue pill for ADD
Posted: 01-08-08 14:46pm

This is a question that has puzzled me for ages!

When I was younger (around 8ish), my mom said I had ADD. I remember being on a white pill for only a short time. I always assumed this was ridalin.

Then I was on a tiny shiny blue pill. I took them 4 times a day. One in the morning, one at lunch, one at dinner and one before bed. They kinda tasted like candy. I faintly recall my grandma saying it was time for my "dixarit."

After awhile my mom stopped my pills cold turkey. I had to go to the hospital every week to do blood work for what seemed like forever. I heard the doctor say I had low white blood cell count and I was sent home with this liquid medication that looked like and tasted like gritty ground up Tylenol! Ick!

I've looked in pharmacy books and journal and can't find this blue pill anywhere. Does anyone know what this was??

P.S. I'm in Canada

I had a blue shiny pill for awhile. It was straterra. It made me sooooo scatter brained.

Thank you! It made me really depressed and mad, and I've always wondered if it was supposed to be used to treat ADD, or if that was a common side effect. But now I can find out : D

Strattera is not used four times a day. It is usually given once a day. I think Adderal in specific mg (I think it's 10 mg) is a blue pill. I think it just depends on what dose you are taking.

Thanks, I'll look into that one too.

I do need to do more research, but I think I should have mentioned that it was perfectly round and it was a little smaller than a lentil. It was never in caplet form.

Straterra didn't hit the market until just about 3 or 4 years ago so the little blue pill couldn't have been Strattera. I have no clue what it was though. Sorry!

I think what you were taking was dexedrine. It did come in a variety of colors, depending upon the drug company that it came from and the dose. It is usually taken 3 times a day. It is a stimulant drug that is a cousin to amphetamine. It is used to treat ADD/ADHD, narcolepsy, and other attention disorders. It does not cause a low white blood cell count (leukopenia). Hope you find what you are searching for.

Adderall 10 mg

That sounds a lot like a 10 mg short acting adderall and if it made you irritable and moody, those are the common side effects!

Hope that helps

^^ That is a link to a picture of it. It is the blue 10 mg one.
