anxiety and loss of balance Posted: 01-08-08 22:24pm
I get this whenever I get a bit anxious.
Whevener I walk, it feels like the ground
is moving up and down beneath me. It's
there all day, usually for a week at a
time. It scared the hell out of me the
first time it happened, and a doctor
wrongly diagnosed me with a middle ear
infection. I had no idea anxiety could
affect your balance in this way.
Anyone else get this?

It is my opinion the anxiety can put you
whold system out of wack. Your mind and
you balance which is triggered by the
brain functions. Makes sense to me.

My mom has a vertigo problem diagnosed by
her doctor, but I've wondered lately if it
also has to do with stress. She tends to
have a lot of anxiety, too.

Well my aunt, when I talked to her about
it, said that she'd had very bad vertigo
once and after several tests on her head
showing nothing wrong, they eventually
said it could be due to stress. And sure
enough, when the stress went away, the
vertigo disappeared.
So it's a possibility.

real bad for 3 Weeks to a Month. That was a
horribly nasty experience I NEVER want to
experience ever again!

I've had it about 3 times now in the past
3 months. It was much worse the first time
when I didn't know what was going on. Now
I'm confident I can deal with it if it
comes again. Gonna get it checked out by a
doctor anyway, to make sure it's not
something untoward. It's nice to know
other people have experienced the feeling
too, since it's not exactly a common
symptom of anxiety.

I have felt off balance many times. I went
to a nerologist too. It all comes down to
anxiety. I did get alot better after going
on zoloft, but i still feel like that at
times. It is so nerve racking too! I feel
like im on a cruiseship.

I tend to struggle with some exercises at
the biokinetick centrum. Can't seem to
keep my balance no matter how hard I try.
But yesterday, it seems my brain was too
tired to think and I actually got it with
no prob
