Starting Birth Control After Pregnancy Posted: 01-09-08 15:28pm
I had my second child on November 2, 2007.
I did not get a post-partum period. After
my 6-week checkup, I began taking
Tri-Sprintec (the Sunday after). My
husband and I had no intercourse during my
6-week recovery. We had intercourse on the
8th day I had been on the pill. Would I
have been adequately protected from
pregnancy after 8 days taking the pill? I
have been rather sick to my stomach which
I'm thinking could be a side effect from
the pill, but now I'm paranoid that I
should not have had unprotected sex until
I had been on the pill an entire month
since I did not have a post-partum period.

YES, you would definitely be protected!
You are protected 7 days after starting
BC, if you start it when you are not on
your period.
