Jenny had her op at 9.30 this morning & after two hours of waiting I went down to recovery to see her. It was horrible, there were two doctors holding her down & she was screaming.. I've never seen her so upset before Sad I got all emotional when they were giving her the anaesthetic too; she was crying & then suddenly she just stopped fighting & her eyes rolled back as she went to sleep.. ugh.. I hated that bit.

Anyway, the op went really well & after a biiiiiig drink of apple juice & some toast she was back to her usual self again. We got to go home at 2pm, so that was pretty good. She has a massive bandage on her arm.. it's so sad.

She has to keep the bandage on until we go back on the 18th.. the doctor needs to check the wound is healing etc. He said there'll be a slight bump where the thumb was, but it should go down eventually.. & we should expect the scar to be very obvious & red for up to 3 years before it finally settles down Sad

It's amazing how quickly she's adapted to only using one arm, the bandage doesn't even bother her. I'm so proud of how brave she's been today =)

No kidding! My little niece, who's a little older than Jenny, had a reaaaally bad accident with her hand earlier this year (almost lost a finger) and was bandaged up similar to Jenny's. We were in the ER with her and her parents (my sister and bil) and she was soo brave. Then, the next day, she acted like she'd been using just the one hand forever. Kids never cease to amaze me!

lol try bathing a little boy with a cast on his LEG for 3 MONTHS. Not easy but we managed.

Zanny she is so precious and so strong like her mommy!! Tell her im so proud of her! Give her a big hug for me!

(oh and i doubt her scar will be that obvious and red.. they tell you that just in case she has a problem healing or keloids.)

I'm glad that she's doing okay now. That must've been so scary for you to see your little girl go through that.

She looks so tiny in that cast. She's strong though...this whole thing has probably been much harder on you then on her.
