lost pregnancy Posted: 01-09-08 18:28pm
I've been putting this off all
morning-it's my first day back at work.
We lost the pregnancy.
I had a feeling I would, so I was kinda
prepared. Still pretty dissappointed
though.
I didn't feel very pregnant, so I kept
taking tests to reassure myself. I got
suspicious when the result line didn't
seem to be getting any darker at all.
Friday morning it was so faint, I thought
it was negative, and then I started
spotting.
I was sure it was the sart of a
miscarriage.
Went to Dr for blood testsm, and straight
into ultrasound- things were complicated
by the fact that I was unsure about my
dates, but there was absolutly nothing
visable in the ultrasound at all- no sac,
no "blighted ovum" just "corpus
somthingum" on my right ovary to confirm
that a pregnancy had occured- but didn't
indicate WHEN it occurred.
The tech said up to 5 weeks or so, seeing
nothing would be pretty normal, but I knew
my first + was almost a week prior so I
wasn't convinced.
The results of my blood test came in
Saturday my levels were only 18, they said
they'd take another test Sunday morning,
48 hours after the firts on Friday to see
if the number had doubled.
Sunday morning I started bleeding.
Actually was nowhere near as bad as I
expected- no pain or aything, just like a
normal period.
I won't need a D&C unless the bleeding
doesn't stop before this Sunday (it's
pretty much stopped already), and I'm
having a last blood test then to make sure
my levels have gone back to
pre-pregnancy.
Doctor seems to think I'll get pregnant
again pretty quickly.
So, we'll see.
I'm treating it like a period, just
waiting or it to be over to start trying.
Wish me luck!

I'm so sorry That must be so
hard to deal with. At least you were
slightly mentally prepared and you have a
good attitude about it. Since you
conceived so fast this time, hopefully the
luck will strike you again!

I agree, you have a really good attitude
about it. I'm so sorry that you had to go
through this, but at least it's been
relatively painless.
***Baby Dust*** to you for when you start
trying again!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad that
you're taking it so well. Take some time
to pamper yourself and go to a spa, a
movie or something.
