Funeral Etiquette?

The funeral for my friend Erica is on
Saturday... do you have to wear black, or
are dark colors fine? I want to show Erica
the respect she deserves, but I don't have
any black clothes that fit anymore, I'm
still in maternity clothes and I don't
have any way to get new clothes before the
funeral.

Honestly, people are going to be grieving
and the last thing on their minds will be
clothing. Or at least that's how I think
it should be!
I think that even a dark purple, or dark
blue shirt with some dark blue jeans
should be fine.
I'm soo sorry and you will be in my
thoughts this weekend!!

Nope. I have three shirts that fit... two
long-sleeved striped shirts, one green and
one red, and a dark maroon blouse. And two
pairs of pants, a dark grey pair and a
rust pair.
None of my friends are my size, they're
all either way smaller, or way bigger. The
one friend who is my size has a much
bigger chest, so none of her shirts would
fit right.

Yep, the maroon shirt with the dark grey
pants.
You don't necessarily have to wear all
black to a funeral. Dressy clothing is
fine. It's just not the proper time to
wear your brightest outfit, either.

Exactly. I agree with Suzy too. Dark grey
pants and the maroon shirt. You are in my
prayers.

I don't think I should wear the maroon
top.. it's a nice shirt, but it's low cut
and shows off a lot of cleavage.
I think my mom still has her "skinny"
clothes... tonight I'm going to go through
them and see if there's anything nice in
there.

Erica's favorite color was pink, and I
don't own any pink clothing, maternity or
regular XD
I'm bringing a bunch of pink and white
roses for her... they were her favorite.

hmm, i dont think it should really matter
what you wear, you just had a baby anyways
so they should understand just dont wear
something like bright yellow or something
like that.

Don't know if this is too late, but wear
what ever you want to wear. The etiquette
for funerals is just to wear something
respectful and conservative. The last
funeral I attended I wore dark grey pants
and a white button down shirt.
