antibiotics for Streptococcus Agalactiae Posted: 01-10-08 09:24am


I am a 31 year old gay male living in Madrid, Spain. 2 months ago i had a general std exam done which included culture from my rectum. The result showed i had abundant amounts of Streptococcus Agalactiae. My doctor prescribed 10 days of actibiotics in pill form which contained 500 mg of Amoxicilina and 125 mg of Clavulanico Acid. 6 weeks later i had the same culture performed and the result (received yesterday) was the same. My doctor then prescribed me the same treatment. I've been reading up on this and I'm not so sure i've been given the correct treatment so i thought i'd ask your opinion. I'd apreciate any advise you can give me.
