So my situation is.
Usually I take my nuva ring out after 3
weeks. And I've been on it almost a year.
I LOVE it.
This 2 times ago, I was going on vacation
and I just left it in the 4th week. No
period, and then i was 2 days late putting
the new one in. And I left the old one in
those 2 days just for safety. Didn't have
intercourse for atleast a week and a half
after the switch. They say 7 days after
you insert the new ring are you then
protected. We use condoms. And then this
last ring change, i changed it at the 4
week mark again, because it was new years
and you know.. so I didn't want my period
then, and so I didn't get it, I changed it
a few days early. Do you think theres a
change I could be pregnant?

I was just paranoid i think. I also just
read " If NuvaRing® remains in the vagina
for 1-7 extra days, remove it and
re-insert a new ring after a one-week
break. You will still have contraceptive
protection during the extra week and
during your period."
So i'm going to guess that I would still
have protection those 2 days. I think I'm
just sending myself through loops and
crazying myself up.

haha I learned my lesson. Exam week at
school. And I was a first semester
freshman.. and a lot of stress. So that
could be another reason. I was just
looking for some comforting words.

You can leave the ring in for four weeks
and just put another in, lots of girls
skip their period that way.

whenever your sexually active there is
always a chance of pregnancy
and they say stressing out about it can
cause symptoms of it. so the best thing
you can do is relax and wait.

I was on Nuvaring for about 5 months. In
that time I notice a lot of Burning from
time to time with the discharge. I would
get yeast infection like symptoms just
prior to my cycle. Also My anxiety
worsened. My doctor put me on prozac to
control it. I stopped using it and went
back to Loestrine. Because of my insurance
I have to use Nuvaring again and I'm
scared. I have been on Loestrine and free
of these symptoms for 4 months. Tomorrow I
will need to put the ring in. Is it
possible that the ring is just not meant
for me?

Yeah, it's possible. Can you get a generic
version of loestrin? Even if you have to
pay full price for a generic, it might be
better than being miserable on the ring. I
was on generic loestrin and had to pay
about $20 per month, which was worth it to
me. Or you could go to planned parenthood
too, they will give you whatever you want
at lower costs.
