I *HATE* the leashes!!!!! MY GOD!!!

I look at it like, if you can't control your child, then s/he NEEDS to be strapped down. PERIOD.

I know people might jump on me for that, but mreh...

I had the snugli last time and Oni didn't like it until she was like 4 months...I knew then, that I was gonna get a sling!! I got it from Target!!

Here's the one I got...

BUT, I might return it to get THIS one!! They didn't have these at the target I went to! Sad

I don't have a harness. and never have. I use to feel like you do Sarah, but let me tell you. There have been countless times that i'm out and have only wished that i had one on hand.

my friend still puts her almost 5 yr old on a leash cuz he listens like a rock!

Betsy I have had 7 strollers since Macy was born. Three of which were double. We are on a sit n stand now. I really like that its smaller but at the same time it sucks cuz when both kids are tired n crabby they fight over the front seat and it doesnt lean back far enough. I want the double sit n stand so i can have a seat for both kids and a spot for Roans infant seat. I would recommend the splurge on a double stroller, dont be cheap n buy the 100-150 dollar ones cuz they are heavy n difficult n break easily. maybe i should just buy a four seater one lol.

in conclusion YES you need a double stroller imo

I have double for my kids but obviously layla was only 10 months when logan was born. I still put her in it as you will not believe how hard it is to push a pushchair and hold a childs hand especially in a busy city where your scared of traffic etc- also they only have little legs and can get tired

I got this pushchair:

cause the bottom seat comes off and it converts to a single. When Layla is at nursery I use the bottom seat for shopping.

it's not like you put your kid on that and they're straining and pulling like an excited puppy. it's a freaking backpack with a handle! it's a nice way to let your child walk with you without worrying about them wandering off or being grabbed.

i'm glad oni is such a perfect angel, but finn is a curious boy who would want to go in every direction to explore. i encourage his curiosity in a safe respectable (to store owners, the library, wherever) manner.

it would look very strange to me to see a 14-month old walking placidly next to their parent and *not* trying to check everything out.

Wow B...I NEVER said Oni was an Angel. And I never said I let her walk at 14 months. Hell, she could BARELY walk at 14 months. Rolling Eyes

I'm not sure where YOU'RE from, but down here, you DO see kids straining and pulling like wild animals on the leashes. But I guess you'll find that out when you try and restrain Finn on the leash.

I encourage Oni to be curious...but I *won't* tolerate her running in all different directions while I'm trying to do things. If she won't hold my hand, then she won't walk. PERIOD.

I found your response to my hatred of the leash very rude. There was no need to say "I'm glad Oni is such a perfect angel". Because I NEVER insinuated that she WAS.

I am one that's open to opinions, but that wasn't an opinion. It was an insulting resposnse...nothing more, nothing less.

well, i found your response to be quite rude. i have no problem controlling my child and he does not need to "be strapped down". like i said, i want him to be able to explore in a safe manner.

and finn is 14 months, that's where that part came from. yeah, when he's 2 i expect him to act nicely in public and walk with me. but at this age listening is not his strong point when he's excited and in a new place. i'm not going to stifle his curiosity by making him sit in a stroller.

I totally understand what you're saying. And I apologize if my original post offended you.

I have a bad repor with them because I've seen soooo many horrible 2-4 year olds stretching the leash to it's MAX!! So I can only assume a younger baby would do the same, ya know?

I think that if Oni had been walking good at 14 months, I would have maybe considered getting one. But she was still falling down, as she didn't START walking until 13 months. So she didn't get to taste freedom until about 15/16 months. And it was tough then, because she REFUSED to hold hands.

Although she's def NO angel, she is a very well behaved little girl. And I'm SOOO greatful for that. With my luck, this next lil girl will be a lil DEVIL!!!!!

Whoa! I didn't realize that. We'll have to go to babysrus or target and just look at what they have. I'm not good at finding things online. I like to read reviews, but I have to actually see them.

It is alot of money but it is well worth it IMO.

I see nothing wrong with harnesses (leash) it's safer to have your child on one than have him/her run out on to the road in front of a car. Some people want thier child to get used to walking so that they will stop going in the pushchair and get some exercise but if the child is excited and/or unruly they may want to try running away.

how else are parents of unruly children to teach their children how to give up the pushchair?

luckily layla has never needed one and i somehow manage to hold her hand and push logan but for some kids it is essential

Ava went nuts in Motherhood Maternity. I know she's not ready to walk right now.

I'm sooooo getting the sling for this baby though. I love the idea of a sling.
