I started my first pack of Solia last
month, breakthrough bled all month, and
when it came time for my period while I
was taking the sugar pill it kept on
breakthrough bleeding and came only one
day really heavy. Went to the doctor and
she gave me a preg. test and it came out
neg, and she said if the first week of the
second pack (that's now) causes and
breakthrough bleeding, then we have to
change. It's been 2 days into the second
pack, and no bleeding... how safe am I to
have sex? Would you? I was thinking of
having it within this week.

You were safe to have sex after your first
week on Solia, even though you were
bleeding. So of course you're safe now!
Breakthrough bleeding is extremely common
on hormonal birth control. Your first
month was typical. It's also common to
stop breakthrough bleeding after the first
sugar week. You are safe during that week,
too.
