my husband just went to doctor for a bump
on his back and the dr said it is a
ganglian cyst (he had one on his wrist as
well). The doctor wants to do surgery on
it and he said it is because my husband is
black and his skin is different. Has
anyone ever heard of this or why it would
be different for him. The doctor said if
he was white, he would just do the removal
in his office.

It could possibly be because black skin is
more prone to a certain type of scarring
called keloid scarring. Perhaps the
doctor want a more seasoned hand to do the
job to minimise the chance of your husband
getting this.
