38week Dr Appt!!

So, I TECHNICALLY make 38 weeks TOMORROW,
but the Dr's office has me at 38 weeks
because of my fundal height...
Anyways...I first asked if a pelvic exam
was completely necessary at this point. He
said yes, because, well I don't even
know...his reasoning was stupid!!
So I told him that my shower was this
sunday and that I didn't want him stirring
anything up down there and he said "ohhh,
I see! Well, I be gentle so that I don't
"stir anything up." "
I then voiced my concern about her being
breech. He checked me and said "well
here's the head...and you're a loose
fingertip. But you've been that for a lil
longer than a month now...so no change."
So, after I sat up he said "well, I'd
really like you to make it to at LEAST 39
weeks...for HER sake."
I said "I wouldn't mind making it to my
due date!"
And he said "well I don't like going to 40
weeks because it starts to make me think
we had the dates wrong..."
"well Doc, I've told you from jump that
I'm not ok with being chemically induced
UNLESS I go past my due date, or there's a
serious problem."
He then says "well, there's more than one
way to induce. Pitocin isn't the FIRST
thing we try."
And I said "like I SAID, I'm not about
having chemicals put into my body to start
something that will come naturally. How
about this...Sunday night, I'll have sex
and let my hubby come in me...that IS how
I got my daughter out at 37 weeks, so I'm
SURE it'll work again..."
He laughed and said "lol...ok. It looks
like you're not bending on the induction
situation, so sex will have to do!! I'll
see ya next week!"
Man, what's with Dr's and wanting soooo
badly to induce?!?!?!?
Anyways...when I wiped myself after being
checked, a HUGE glob of mucus came out and
I thought....GREAT!! Just what I
needed...
I'm sooo excited that tomorrow I'll be 38
weeks!!!! To think, at this point with
Oni, I was AT HOME with a newborn!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to add...I lost another lb.
So I'm down to a 24lb weight gain...I
think...or 23.5...
I asked him about that and he said "you
have to realize exactly WHERE your stomach
is right now...it's RIGHT under your
espphogus, at the top of your belly. It's
no shock that you're losing weight...as
your appetite is prob becoming less and
less!!"
Ok, off to pick Baron up from work!!!

Well, I'm glad you haven't progressed any
because I know you want to make it all the
way. That sucks that your doctor is really
wanting to induce you. They just like to
know what their schedule is going to be
like.

Wow, he sounds like a real boob! I'd be
annoyed if he said that about inducing!

Weird dr. You can go past your due date
and not be induced if you choose. They
just need to check both heartbeats and
your blood pressure (i think) I saw a
woman on tv was very "natural" about
pregnancy and birth, she waited until she
went into labor naturally - 4 weeks past
her due date!

Remember, Sarah, that he's not the boss!
YOU are! I wouldn't have even let him
check me if I didn't want to be checked.
What's he going to do, spank you?
Don't let that man anywhere near you with
induction methods!

Wow Sarah, your doctor is a nut case! Why
would he want to induce you at 39 weeks,
that's just stupid unless it's absolutely
neccessary! Good for you for sticking to
your guns!! Hope she
waits till after your shower.

i was almost induced 2weeks before my due
date!!! If grace hadnt of grown that week
and stephen and i gave our doctor the go
ahead she still would have done it!!
of course we let her cook for another
week!! Probably could have
gone till full term really but at the time
it seemed like the right thing to do!!

Glad things are going well! My doctor
didn't even mention induction until my 39
week appointment. He asked if I wanted to
be induced on my due date and I told him
no. He said OK and that if she hadn't
come by the 41 weeks, he would want to
induce. She ending up arriving 2 days
before my due date.
