well my last period was nov.15 and ive
taken 4 hpt's and all came up negative.
this morning i went in for the blood test
and just got my results back and she said
"pretty much negative" but ive been having
pregnancy symptoms.. Frequent urination,
Boobs growing and tenderness, food
cravings, pressure in abdomen, tired alot,
very irritable. but anyways.. i dont know
that i really believe my results, and i
think maybe i just have very low hcG so
shes telling me its negative. cuz i have
no idea what else would make me have all
those symptoms and skip my period. and i
dont wanna be halfway or more into my
pregnancy before i find out.. HELP.

Why didn't she tell you what else could be
causing your symptoms? Is "she" your
doctor"

why do people noy start their own threads,
that really irks me
other then that, stress or illness can
delay a period and a delayed period can
make you think your pregnant and your mind
can cause physical symptoms
that is if you arent pregnant, i would
assume you arent but since she said
"pretty much" i dont know
on a side note i also havnt had a period
since nov 15, and have had 2 neg tests so
far

sorry.. i just found this site today, and
i was reading up on the false negatives
for blood tests, so i added to this one..
but she wasnt my normal doctor, but i have
an apt. with my normal doctor on the 29th
to further discuss my missing periods.

false negatives are extremely rare
99.9999999999% youre not pregnant
just because your "having symptoms" doesnt
mean your ppregnant they could be pms
symptoms
even if you have very low hcg a blood test
would pick it up. so if you got a neg
blood test then youre not pregnant

well i go to a family practice.. so its
all the training doctors, and pretty much
every time i go i have a different doctor,
so thats also the fun thing about it, but
i got the blood work done at the hospital
and they sent the results back to the
doctor i saw this morning.

& 1 negative blood test & my
dovtor sounds retarded also after i told
them i had 2 positives he says well
congrats your pregnant & then the
blood test came back & he just walks
out & says i really dont know then
brings my papers & say your free to go
i was like what so i honestly dont kno
what to think im as confused as you lol

said this:

negative."
The doctor said the test was negative.

Her doctor was not confused, she said,
"NOT PREGNANT."
I highly doubt your doctor sent you off
with no follow up, like to retake the test
or something. If he didn't, your doctor
must have said it was negative, and you
are not pregnant.

Missing a period happens. Trust me
pregnancy isn't the only reason for a
missed period. (I haven't had a period
since 8-28-07) So..I know.
I'm a little concerned in the way they
have handled things. Any doctor would give
you a blood test. Some will even give you
an ultrasound to see if there is any
physical reason for a missing period (ie:
cyst). Then they would write you a script
for some provera/prometrium and birth
control. It's odd to me that they were
just like, "it's negative, good luck".
