There's a piece of hair in my infants eye.
It's really thin and about 1/2" long.
When he blinks, it moves around his eye.
It's been there for at least a day since I
have noticed it.
Do I just leave it alone? Is there
anything that I can do? Otherwise his eye
looks ok.
My son has a small piece of hair in his
eye atm too. It's been there since
yesterday and idk what to do either. His
tear ducks arent working yet that I've
noticed, that or he dosnt know how to cry
lol. I was hoping he would flush it out on
his own with tears when he cried, but like
I said, no tears are forming withhim yet
and he will be two weeks this weds. I
think it will come out soon tho cuz he
does build up eye boogers daily, so it
will most likely come out on its own and
I'll just end up wipping it away as I do
with his eye boogers everyday. If your
really worried I'd call your Dr. Otherwise
I don't see this as a big concern.

Yeah, don't mess with it, it will work
itself out on it's own. If you need to
help a blocked tear duct, or your baby's
eyes are "congested" here is a little tip:
you can wipe away the excess ooze with a
washcloth dampened with water, and wipe
from the inside of the eye (part closest
to the nose) outward in a sweeping motion.
Don't apply pressure and be very
gentle.....then....
If you are breastfeeding, you can squirt
your milk into the baby's eye or onto the
eyelid. Breast milk has anti-bacterial
properties and will help clear the
congestion and prevent infection...and may
even help flush out a stray hair.
