Q: getting through morning sickness

Ok I thought that I was lucky cause hubby has been getting all of the morning sickness, but as of Mon mine kicked in full force. I can barely function or eat. Every smell makes me nausious. I work 8 hrs a day and then I have school 3 hrs a day. I am soo tired and I dont know if I can do this. Work is sooo hard to get through the day and then I have to go home and eat and then its off to class.

Im sure a lot of women out there had lots to do while they were pregnant. So how did you do it. How did you manage keeping active when all you feel like doing is sleeping?

For my first trimester, it was hard to keep ANYTHING down. Basically I ate dry toast and saltine crackers. You should try keeping a supply of saltines right by your bed. When you wake up in the morning, before you get out of the bed, eat a couple crackers. It helped me get through the day without vomitting.

Well smells definitely make you sick!
There's no getting around that.
Nose plug? haha

For me, just feeling the slightest bit hungry made me sick. Then after I ate, I would vomit anyway.

Mine started out to be only in the morning... then progressed to morning and night. Then to ALL day....

I would eat a piece of dry toast before even getting out of bed in the morning. Then I would something bland every couple of hours; crackers, toast. I also kept a supply of hard candy and chewing gum around. It seems like as long as I something in my mouth, I would feel a little bit better and it would keep me from vomiting.

For me, the SECOND I let my stomach get empty, I was nausious!!

My dogs breath made me sick too! LOL! It was def something I was ready to end!!

Cross your fingers that this only alsts 12 weeks. For some women it can last the ENTIRE pregnancy!!

I really didn't/don't have morning sickness (26wks), but the smell of certain things make me sick/hungry.

For instance, popcorn, my favorite snack, is now making my sick when someone cooks it, along with eggs. If someone is cooking eggs, I have to be out of the room and spraying febreeze!

on the opposite, I made a deer meat roast (smells like ground beef btw) and when I put it in the crock pot, I almost licked my fingers it smelled so good raw! Sry to gross you out if I did Embarassed I know Veggies can't stand the talk of blood...

That was me! Any kind of tummy rumble and the vomit would immediately come! It was awful. This is probably why I gained 60 pounds with my pregnancy.... Fun!!!

I am willing to try anything. What does the vitamin and unison do? Of course help you sleep but what about the vitamin B? I am just curious.

you know what i am not sure!!! I just know it works for me!! The unisom does make you kinda sleepy for the first week or so but now i take it and dont even notice. plus i'd rather be tierd than super sick!!

I would definitly give it a try. I was sick ALL DAY EVERYDAY before. and now i pop my two pills at night before bed.. and Smile no sickness the next day. its worth a shot

Unisom is a sleep aid. The likely reason you don't notice it anymore is because you have built up a tolerance to the 2 pill dosage.

I use to suck mints or chew minty gum it helped me. I also found when i was empty is when it was the worst so try to snack as often as possible. My SIL was so sick her entire pregnancy she was only about to eat ramen noodles and pizza hut breadsticks, it was awful.

It's so bad when you have to work. Work seems almost impossible to do when you feel sick all the time. Hang in there. It's awful. Like Suzy said, eat a lot of crackers and toast. I never heard of the other ideas, sounds interesting. I wish I knew about that before baby.
