I am new in this, so I have a few
questions. I would really appreciate your
feedback!
1. I am regular in my periods, but my
ovulation kit does not show that I am
ovulating.. it has been 2 months and no
ovulation. Could the kit be wrong? Or am I
not ovulating even though my periods are
regular?
(My blood tests show that I am healthy and
my doctor was sure that I would have no
problem getting pregnant!)
2. Is it true that you should not have sex
everyday to save up on stronger sperms?
3. We use lubricants. I have heard some
lubricants are sperm killers. Is that
true?
Thanks so much.
p.s. I am 34 Years old!

I'm sorry, I am new to the ttc world also,
so I can't answer your questions. But I
wish you all the luck in the world!!! Have
fun!!
I wish I could help out with the OPK's but
I have never used them. But I will tell
you that yes it is true that there is a
such thing about having too much sex. It
is good to have sex every other day, that
way it gives the sperm a chance to
mature.
Also lubricants make it hard for sperm to
survive. So they don't recommend using
them if you are ttc. The only one that is
good to use is Preseed.....it actually
helps the sperm to live longer. Especially
if you never get that lovely egg-white cm
around the time of ovulation.
Good luck and hopefully it doesn't take
you long to get your BFP!!

I've never used ov. kits so I'm also no
help either...
but like the others said, yes lub can
affect your chances esp. w/ spermicide
(duh!lol)
I'm not 100% on the sperm thing, but I
have read that if you hold off sex until
around your ovulation time that you will
have better chances because there will be
a higher sperm count--but I don't know if
its true or not.
Good luck!
ps: I'm Jen and I'm 21, i've been ttc for
2 months. I'm also new here, so its nice
to meet you =)

Hey there! May I ask how long you've been
trying for? I've heard a lot that it can
take up to a year or so for a healthy
couple to successfully conceive. If you've
already had blood tests, I'm guessing
you're ovulating? If you're worried about
it, you could always just mention to your
doctor that the opk's aren't showing that
you're ovulating and see if there's any
other method you can use that may work
better for you. As far as having sex
everyday, I'm sure it doesn't necessarily
HURT to have sex every day, but I would
think doing it every other day or every 2
days instead would definitely benefit the
production of sperm. And as far as the
lubricants, I think a lot of them have
spermicides in them...you'd want to make
sure you were using one without. I'm not
totally sure on the overall effect
non-spermicidal lubricant would have on
TTC.
