In what way does it not answer the question? You asked why women athletes would do it, and the entire piece explains about hormones and evading dope tests. That is why. Or are you just being obtuse?

You asked why athletes would get pregnant and then abort.
Or are you saying that the fact that they would do this means that it proves that pregnancy it can't be bad for your body?

Well I thought it was a very intersting article, anyway. But it also said there was no proof that this was happening, so actually I guess the answer to your question is that they don't, that it was probably they were being forced to have abortion by their coaches when they got pregnant.

Pregnancy is not always a horrible thing. Yes, there are many many health risks that you take when you become pregnant, but not all are extreme. It just comes down to your personal decision. Some are willing to take the risks and other are not.
If an athlete wants a baby then she will have one. Besides if a person is an athlete then they are generally in better shape than the majority of the population anyway. Therefore, healing time could be much faster.
I seriously doubt that any athlete's coach would force them to have an abortion. Besides true athletes do not even have time to have intercourse anyway

Suerly people know the risks when engaging in intercourse - they have then accepted the responsibility when they engage in it.

If you look at the teen pregnancy forum you can see that your statement is entirely fanciful. Not to mention rape. Not to mention things that happen after a pregnancy starts, even when it was intended. Tou are like saying people who get stds shouldnt have treatment, which may be what you think anyway!

Well then obviously planned parenthood should not be giving sex education then since they are doing such a poor job. Wouldnt expect anything else though would you from a group that hopes the poor and young get pregnant so they can money for abortions.

That seems to be what you are most annoyed about -- why, how much were you charged? And how does that compare to what a us doctor charges to delivery a baby?

First of all family planning is not doing a poor job educating people. At least they try which is more than I can say for a lot of groups and institutions. People will do what they want in the end no matter what.
And planned parenthood and family planning do not hope that people get unwanted pregnancies. You always say how prochoice people are misinformed? You are the misinformed one. The above mentioned does not get money for abortions as they do not even perform them.

Obviously they are not doing a poor job I mean society wants high teen pregnancies high rates of child abuse, high rates of stds high abortion figures high rates of single parents high rates of divorce – yes I was wrong planned parenthood are the best sex educators the world has ever known. I know one thing if I were ever able to have a child I would never ever send him or her to school. No way I wouldn’t have my child filled with immoral ideologies – imagine last week in the united kingdom a school arranged an abortion for a 14yr old girl (against law) without telling her parents – that kind of thing happens and is allowed in the us regulary – school is no longer a safe enviroment for children!

Schools should not be in the business of educating about sexual morality -- no matter what they taught there are parents who would disagree with it.

With the way that society is in this day in age it really blows my mind that there are still unwanted pregnancies (except rape)
kids are having sex sooooo very young. There is sex on t.V, radio, every single place that you look. Condom, b/c, std commercials. How in the world can anyone honestly claim that they did not know about sex or birth control? I just don't fall for that one. Call me crazy.
