I am on junel (the generic brand of bc for
Loestrin Fe 1/20). Last month my husband
and I went on vacation during christmas
time (Dec. 23rd, 24th and 25th) not
realizing that I had left my birth control
home. So I missed the first three days of
the third week of active pills. Doing this
made my period come early. When we got
back from vacation I continued taking my
pills like normal and my period stopped.
I also skipped my placebo pills the next
week and started a new pack of bc) but we
continued having sex w/out any other form
of protection. That same week (New Years
Eve) with all the celebration I totally
forgot to take a pill. Up until now I
have continued taking my pills but there
were a few times that I took them
extremely late and one day somewhere along
the line that I missed another pill!! We
have sex on a pretty regular basis... Now
tomorrow is going to be the first day of
my placebo pills....usually I have a
little breakthrough bleeding the week
before my pills but I didn't this
time....I know no one can possibly know if
I'm pregnant or not...but do you think the
timing of my missed pills would have made
me ovulate or do you think I was
protected? Do you think that the fact I
had no breakthrough bleeding this week
like normal could possibly mean a
pregnancy? I have had what you could
consider early pregnancy signs but I also
know that those can be because of missed
pills or PMS.....I know all I have to do
is wait for a missed period...which would
usually be in a couple days from now but
I'm impatient!! haha Any thoughts or
similar experiences? Do you think there's
a good or bad chancd of being pregnant!?

If you had sex during those three missed
days OR 7 days afterwards, you could be
pregnant.
The one missed pill (either time) is
probably nothing to worry about. Pills are
not considered "late" until 6 hours after
you were supposed to take them.
We cannot predict ovulation because you're
not supposed to ovulate on the pills. It
doesn't matter when you miss the pill,
aside from the first active week - your
chances of ovulation are no higher.
The fact that you don't have breakthrough
bleeding could be a sign of pregnancy, but
you also had a wacky cycle because of the
three missed days previously.
You don't necessarily have to wait for a
missed period. Most tests are accurate for
most women 14 days (2 weeks) after
unprotected sex. You could have gotten
pregnant during the three days you missed
the pill and seven days afterwards.
If I'm correct, you missed pills on the
23-25th, so seven days added to that is
January 1st. Any act of unprotected sex
during this time period could have gotten
you pregnant. The 15th of January was when
you could have started testing. A test
will be accurate for you right now. Make
sure to use urine when you first wake up
in the morning.
