If they say I am 10 weeks pregnant that really the baby is only 8 weeks old? This has confused my family and they think I got pregnant earlier than I really did!

Help!!!

Confused

The way we count is from our lmp (last menstrual period) and that i'm assuming would be 10 weeks for you but the baby is generally concieved about 2 weeks after the first day of our lmp so that obviously means the baby's gestational age is 8 weeks. Hope that helps, I was confused about that for a long time but decided to ask the doc what that meant and thats just what he told me. Once you have your ultrasound they should be able to finalize the age of the baby by measurements. Good luck!

Pregnantmama2 is correct. If they say you are 10 weeks then the fetus is 8 weeks. Here is a great link that you can use just enter the first day of your last menstrual or your due date and it will breakdown the date of conception-the fetus age adn how far along you are.

How about this one! What if the ultrasound says the baby is 7 weeks 1 day and it's been exactly 7 weeks and 1 day since your lmp? I'm really confused!
