Chandaloss & bellabolema- since we've started name calling...You two should really grow up. Get out of your parents house. Then you can work on your judgement of the world.

it may be not a nice act for those who believe in your god and your commandments, in which case they will (according to your religion) be punished in the afterlife. I'd be ready to take my chances, frankly. To be honest, if I did believe in an afterlife, i'd want to make sure I got to hell, just to avoid spending eternity with people like you.

maybe your wish will be granted, then you'll be like the man in the bible who was pleaing for just a drop of water to cool his tongue!!

that's not what i'd call a very educated or informed answer. Name-calling is the last resort of somebody who knows they've lost a debate.

And yes, i'm sure we'd have great fun in hell, since if the bible were true, heaven could not theoretically exist, and even if it did, it would be empty.

if the bible were true, then heaven could not theoretically exist?? Do you read the bible? All through the old and new testament is mention of heaven. In the first book of the bible, called genesis, it states that god created the heavens and the earth. So "even if the bible were true" heaven would exist.

what I see here are many stubborn people who just want to get a rise out of others. They don't care what the other person believes, they just want to be argued. The people that really care are the ones that ask honest questions, not the ones that are just looking for a fight. Did you ever think that maybe the ones that believe abortion is wrong, have a right to their opinions? Just as you think they are trying to "jam" their religion down your throat, you, on your side of the arguement, are pretty set in your ways. Is there a difference? Did you ever try to see their side of the arguement? The best way to settle a fight is to try to see the other side. If you dont' see the other side then you drop what you've said and say, "you believe what you believe. I'll believe what I believe, " and respect each others decision.

Maybe before we all jump in head first into a lake full of man-eating sharks, we should all re-think our intent to post in here. If it is to educate, help or encourage another, then let the comments continue. But just as you are starting fights and speaking on a whim, you are creating more fights, frustration and confusion. To one side of an arguement there will always be an opposite. Let's not forget that we will never change anyone's way of thinking.

since the subject of god and heaven has come up, can someone explain to me why, in all the years of it's existance, has noone seen this glorious place? Is it a bunch of angels strumming harps on clouds? Is it a very simplistic version of earth where we all live in a utopia society? Is it new york with no crime and cabbys who understand english? Why can we travel to mars but not a single person has ever found, seen or given an accurate description of heaven?

Because if we could see it, we would not need all the requirements for entering it for eternity and is not a geographically set place. It's abstract yet concrete, it's hard to explain.

you do not want to go to hell because whatever is the worst thing you can imagine, that will be your hell. You do not want to go, trust me. It's alot more than a place opposite of heaven, it is hell. Whatever your worst phobia or whatever will come true for the rest of eternity which is more than a day or a year.

This is not a religion forum so let's please leave it out of here.
And you know what everyone is entitled to their opinions. Prolife or prochoice. And yes, we are all "set in our ways"
and also, this is a debate forum. So yes, there will be debating.
