I am on microgestin, and take it as if it
were seasonale [as per doctors ok]. I was
on seasonale for a year, and microgestin
for the past 6 months. The morning after
my first day of inactive pills this month,
I developed a wonderful UTI and started
antibiotics. I thought the blood that I
saw in the toliet that morning was my
period arriving, but alas it seemed to be
apart of the UTI. Anyhow, Im due to start
my active pills in two days, and my period
has yet to come. Ive got some brownish
discharge on the toliet paper but thats
about it. Is it just my body being crazy
and dealing with the stress of everything?
Ive got an appt with the doc next month
but until then Im off to buy a pregnancy
test...

Period blood can be brown, red, black, and
all sorts of colors.
Bleeding does not mean you are pregnant.
You can start your BC pills anytime you
like, but starting them on your period
means that you are protected NOW instead
of having to wait 7 days for full
effectiveness.

Can it be considered a period without
having to use a tampon? It feels weird that
theres barely anything that resembles a
period, other than the discharge that only
appears when I use the bathroom.
So I guess this shouldnt be considered a
'missed' period?

If you're worried, go ahead and take a
pregnancy test. As long as you've been
taking them faithfully you are fine.
