LOL! Well, it seems to have kicked off the
pet forum. I think its a great idea. They
could definitly make it a category.. DOG
forum. dog sickness, dog pregnancy, dog
depression....Cat forum, cat pregnancy,
cat sickness. cat despression... etc. Lots
of different types they could have wild
life, birds, fish...

Well I took Boudreaux to the vet today and
he got another cortisone shot. I told the
vet that I was really concerned that we
are only treating the symptoms not the
underlying cause. He said that Boudreaux
could undergo a thorough series of allergy
tests...but even then we may not figure
out the cause. I'm begining to think that
some of it is maybe behavioral, because he
really seems to bite and chew more when
while I am gone, which is only about 7
hours Mon- Thurs. Vet said that this could
be a form of seperation anxiety,
especially considering the fact that he
was a rescue dog that seemed to have been
abandoned. He gave me a script for Elavil,
and suggested giving it to him before I
leave for work. Hopefully this will help
if not we will try the allergy tests!
Thanks for all of your responses I hope
that we can get this resolved ASAP! What
is really worring me is that Hubby and I
are going on a cruise in about a month and
we will be gone for 10 days. Boudreaux has
never been away from me more that 2 days.
He and Daisy (she has never had skin or
anxiety problems) are staying at my
mothers...I'm just worried that I'm going
to come home to a depressed and bald
Boudreaux!

Taco is in the hospital. He had a bad
attack of diarrhea. He couldn't walk
straight anymore and kept falling over.
He would try to meow and nothing would
come out.
He has been in for 2 days now. He has
lost tons of weight and is now only 1 1/2
pounds at 13 weeks old (about half the
size he should be).
His temperature was 6 degrees below
normal, and he is severely dehydrated.
His protein levels are very low.
Everything he eats comes out without being
absorbed.
I'm worried :/

well we could but i think one
category--pets would be best---saves room
that way

Thank you but I already have him on that.
He's on the Nutro Ultra and Daisy is on
the Nutro weight contol.....yes she's a
chucky girl! I tried putting him on the
Nutro Lamb and Rice but it made no
difference in his skin plus he seemed to
not like it very much. I did give him the
Elavil the Dr. prescribed along with a
prescription spray that we got...Genta
Spray, and those seem to help but I just
hate the idea of keeping him drugged up.
Today they both went swimming for about an
hour, we live on the bay, and I don't know
if it was the salt water or if he's so
worn out, but he has not scratched once
tonight!

Oh, I am sorry. I know he is miserable. I
hope you can come across something that
will help. I know what you are going
through. The Ultra Nutro works great or
Girly, but we can't give her any treats
because of the allergies.

i know, it is so hard! i think I am going
to go with the bulldog boxer though
becuase his owner can not keep him, so if
i dont take him he might end up at the
shelter ithink and there are lots of
people who want to adopt the chihuahua, so
she will find a home easy

I have heard that chihuahuas are very
hyper dogs and bark a lot, beware, but you
would love it anyway! Again, pick the one
you want, it may be in your life for a
long time. I have a 17 1/2 year old
dachshund.

That is an old dog! how long do dachshunds
usually live?i think they are kind of
hyper too, but i had a boxer before that
was really hype too. i guess it just
depends on what traits that dog shows from
which breed

I do not know how long their life span
is? We got her when she was 6 weeks old.
I love her so much - it will hurt a lot
when she is gone. She has been the
PERFECT dog. I hope she passes in her
sleep, and that she does not suffer.

Not really
Last night was his 4th night in the
hospital.
He is still not absorbing nutrients. We
just got referred to a different hospital
today that specializes in these things.
They are fasting him for 12 hours and
running more tests.
