Sounds like a great idea, thanks!
I also bought him some wooden sticks to
chew on but he doesn't seem interested in
them...hmmm...maybe put some Sweet Apple
spray on them

Years ago I had a pet rabbit...Mr. Bunny
(yeah I know real original) and he chewed
on everything that he could get his
hoppers on so used bitter apple spray and
it worked like a charm. Once, as a dare, I
tried it.....OMG it is sooooooo aweful! I
can't even begin to describe the
awefulness (even a word?). I almost felt
bad for subjecting my rabbit to that stuf!

FYI --- I mentioned this idea to the admin
team last week. We're tinking of a way
that we can add a pet forum ... but it
needs some development first. So, it may
take a few months or even a year to
implement. I'll continue to update here.
Meanwhile, you all can use this thread to
post about pets!

Yes Boudreaux is a dog. My husband works
out of New Orleans and one of his
employees is named Boudreaux. When we
found him Daniel (hubby) decided that he
reminded him of the guy who works for him.
I know thats silly to say a dog reminds
you of a person, but de does and the name
suits him very nicely.

It isn't silly at all...a lot of dogs
remind me of people! I new that was a
Cajun name, I LOVE New Orleans, I used to
go several times a year. Haven't been back
since Katrina...haven't had the $$$ but I
will make it back to the French Quarter
for some chicory coffee and benyas! Lesa
Bonton Roulet, sha!!! FYI: that means Let
The Good Times Role, Darling...(i probably
misspelled a lot of that!!! )

We love New Orleans too and spend about
half of our time there. We have an
apartment in Marigny neighborhood, which
is right below the Quarter. Our dogs love
it over there too. Ooh yes the Beignets
are delicious!

Have y'all been watching the dog show? The
second part comes on tonight on USA.
Everyone is expecting the Beagle to win
best in show...he's so cute! The
commercials make me so sad though, they
are the Pedigree ads that show homeless
dogs..... They make me so
grateful to have found Boudreaux because
he was a homeless dog that we rescued from
the street. We love our Daisy just as
much, but I got her as a pup and she has
always had a nice loving home.

Oh...I forgot to mention....on the
Pedigree commercials it says that they
will match every donation made to help
shelter dogs find homes! You can go to www.dogsrule.com to
donate! Not only are you helping dogs in
need but the its tax deductible as well!

Kitchen scraps...safer than dog food nowadays?

Dog food...That raises a fairly serious
issue.
What dog food is safe nowadays? We have
lost two dogs, my sister has lost one and
is about to lose another and a friend of
mine has lost one of their dogs. This,
all due to dog food. In most cases, it
has been cancer. In the case of my
sisters dogs, it has been a case of
"saturation". This is from different
brands and not just one brand with a
problem.
Even well respected brands has been proven
to put all kinds of caca into their
product just to "flesh it out". This is
usually byproducts/leftovers from the food
we buy in the shops.
Is it safer to just feed your dogs table
scraps and have to deal with weight
problems rather than feed them proper dog
food and run the risk of them contracting
cancer/billary/toxin-saturation etc...???
How can one trust any brand of dog food
after another brand...ENDORSED BY THE SPCA
NO LESS...is found to cause sickness in
dogs???

science diet was really good but if it
isn't I really would like to know...should
I start buying some other kind? I also mix
in a little Ceasers wet food for the
flavor and one of my yorkies is pregnant
so I want her to get the best...if you
have any ideas about a better food then
please let me know.thanks
