I was wondering for all the moms or moms
to be, have u heard of this ? Syrup of
ipecac? I was reading about it and it
says we should have it handy at all times
in case of accidental poisining of the
baby...At first I was liek omg, my baby
isnot going to get poisined, but then I
thought hey, its always better safe than
sorry....
Do u plan on keeping this around or
not?....

Well I just read some more about it and it
says its highly dangerous to give if the
child is under age one, and should rarely
b used at home anyways...So I think ill
sit that one out...Nevermind

Its good for mostly 2-4 year olds but if
you need to give it to a little one be
careful with whatever it was they
swallowed as sometimes you cant give them
that syrup.....Dont worry jordan, dont
have to worry about that for some time

p.S - love the belly pic

Parent's Mag Says It's Not Safe Posted: 04-28-04 03:09am
In the new may issue of parenting magazine
there is an article that is called "the
child safe medicine cabinet"(if you happen
to see the magazine its on pg 49 and 50).
It says: ( I am gonna write the exact
article)
what about ipecac?
If you still have this poison treatment,
pour it down the drain. Experts now say
it's not effective and can be harmful.
Activated charcol may be given in the
hospital if your child's brought to the
emergency room--it treats many, but not
all, poisons. But it's hard to
administer, so it's not recommended for
home use.
Thats it. Just thought i'd share that
with everyone.

Hey, I got some of that at my baby shower
this weekend. Everyone said it's a must
to have around.
