cleft in shoulder & a hole above the hip line Posted: 01-22-08 03:59am
Hi
My baby is now 1.6 years old.. By birth,
he's cleft in both the shoulders & a pin
size hole above an inch in the hip line..
I'd asked doctors whether it will affect
him in anyway ... to which they responded
in negative.. I'me curious to know more
about it.. why it happens & if there's any
problem with that now or in the future to
the baby..
Thanks

I'm sorry no one got to your post sooner.
How is your baby doing?
I suppose the doctors believe that the
baby will continue to develop and it will
go away eventually. I have had 2 children
with a pin sized hole in the same place on
their ear, and they do not bother them.
Actually either I haven't noticed them or
they are gone on my 6 year old. I would
say it's probably just a genetic thing and
there's nothing to worry about.
If your baby seems to be getting
infections there or unable to move
properly because there is an underlying
problem in those areas, then you would
want to contact the doctor. But I think
he will be just fine.
