I have only one partner and it is a fairly new relationship (3months)and i just recently started having a problem with odor which has never been a problem except prior to my menstral cycle, and i have ?'d partner about cheating. my concern is S.T.D he denies cheating.

So my ? is can other things cause this other than a s.t.d

Yes, there are infections a woman can develop on her own even when she's not sexually active. I'd go get tested by a gynecologist.

Are you using a condom? Lubes, gels, lotions?

Your partner can have an infection and you can pick it up later. Three months is not very long to have an infection go undetected.

You need to go see your doctor. You may need some medication.

Bacterial vaginitis has no real symptom except a fishy smell, especially after intercourse. You need an antibiotic for this.

similar problem

i had BV and had been given meds for it a few months back. i don't think it ever cleared up fully. i'm thinking his sperm is really acidic and i can't seem to get balanced. i'm not itchy, do not burn and i don't smell a fishy oder like b/4. it's just an odd oder for me when having sex... so i'm just as confused.

also, i went to the dr for a pap... told her the history and she acted like no big deal. she even looked at some CM thru a scope and said i was fine.

i'd really like to get this taken care of... any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I didn't have this problem with my bf of 6 yrs but when we broke up and I started dating a guy for 2 yrs I dealt with this problem every day. (I'm since back with the old bf...) The only way I could make it not smell was have him either not come inside me or I would douche before and after sex with him. His sperm was never smelly unless it was inside me and it tasted and looked ok. I went to the dr and there was no BV, guess my body just didn't mesh with his....lol

that suxs tho.... there's got to be another way to balance ourselves if for some reason our ph is unbalance b/c of their sperm. i'm not going to douche, that could lead to more problems that i don't need. after we have sex it doesn't smell at all... it's just the days after that i have problems. Sad
