possible birth control options ?

I have a question regarding birth control methods, and there's really no one I can talk to.
My boyfriend and I have been doing research on birth control. It'll be the first time for both of us, and after seeing all the issues with birth control methods, I'm kind of scared. I don't want to try to the pill because I don't trust myself to keep track of it not to mention all the side-effects I hear that go along with it. I've had a fear of shots for as long as I can remember so I haven't even considered that method. I don't want to try any prescription methods because I don't have the spare money (college student heh), and I'm embarrassed about my parents finding out even though they would be supportive. My boyfriend is definitely going to wear a condom, but we wanted to be even more careful. I thought spermicides would be a good option, but everything I've read about them is mixed. What would be the best thing for me to do?

Birth control is extremely safe and the most side effects you're likely to experience is mild nausea and spotting. That's it!!

If you are a student, then you can get birth control for very cheap or even FREE!! Check out a local planned parenthood or your school's clinic (if they have one).

The nuvaring or the patch may be the perfect option for you! Until then, yes, a condom with spermicide is a very effective form of birth control. I used condoms without spermicide for 6-7 months when I first became sexually active and never got pregnant.

If your college has a student health center, they can offer low cost services too!

Birth control is very very safe.

NUVA RING does not have to be remembered, you just replace it once per month.

Condoms alone are just not as effective as other methods we have available.

I want to get on the nuvarigng and use condoms....Seems like the best option honestly, especially if you feel you cannot remember to take the pill...I know three people who have used it, and are still using it...My friend went fron the pill, which she gained weight off of, and switched to the nuvaring and lost the weight fast, my cousin used it after she stopped breastfeeding, and lost all the weight she gained plus ten more pounds when she went on it, and my friend has been using the ring and has lost weight using it, and has not had a problem...she has been on a few diets since she got on it, trying to lose some weight, and she has not had an issue with it when she trying to lose some weight....
