semen analysis and HPV

Soooo....

Things are finally starting to progress in the baby making department. I thought I would never say that!!!

DH had an appointment with a urologist (sp?) yesterday to talk to him about getting his sperm analysis. The doctors office was crazy busy and I got closterphobic with all the people in the waiting room. BUT...here's what he said...Basically they didn't do anything except take a urine sample, but they sent him home with a sample cup. So he has an appointment in two weeks from yesterday and he was told that as of next Sunday night that there will be no sex and then on Wednesday before the appointment we have to "collect the sample" and bring it in within two hours.

I am going out of town this coming week for business, so that's why we have to wait so long...and to top it off, I might have to reschedule his appointment, because I think I am going to be really busy that day at work. But regardless, we just have to abstain for three days before we collect the sample.

Then, after next week I am going to change my OB/GYN doctor. I have been wanting to do that for a while, but since I was diagnosed with HPV I have had to go through the treatments and have 3 clean follow up paps before they will give me a clean bill of health and let me go back to annuals. So I have my third appointment next Friday and after that, Im gone. Im going to a doctor that has been refered to me by 3 people. I don't feel like my current doctor is interested in helping me in my quest, so I want to find a doctor that is interested in helping me.

So its moving forward, slowly, but getting there.

So far I am keeping up with my new years resolutions. Haven't smoked in almost a month, I have been going to the gym 3 days a week. And Im moving forward with my ttc resolutions as well.

Yay for me yes

yes That is terrific news!!! I'm so proud of you.

I'm glad they are letting him produce his sample at home. It take so much of the stress off.

Is the doctor you are going to switch to a regular ob/gyn or an re?

And way to keep up the resolutions!!!! The smoking thing is huge. So is the excercise. Man it is going to be a good year for you!!!

Thanks Christy.

The doctor that I am going to go to is a regular ob/gyn that specializes is fertility practices. This doctor is in my network and I want to make it my regular gyno doctor. If they refer me to someone else thats ok. I still haven't talked to the insurance about whats covered. Im procrastinating on that one (I will PM you...I have some questions) As far as my other doctor said, there is only one RE in Wilmington other than that I have to go a few hours away...which is impossible when having to schedule around work.

This doctor was referred by a girl in my office who was trying to get pregnant and they did the laproscopy (sp) on her and had been working with her for a while...she ended up getting divorsed from her husband, so she isnt trying anymore. And a guy who I work with, his wife was having trouble getting pregnant and she went to these doctors and she eneded up getting pregnant.

Mainly I am doing this because I HATE where I am going right now, and I want something better.

Sure, PM away!!!

I only asked because the wait time for an RE is normally longer then a month, so you may want to call sooner then later for an appt. But if this practise specializes in fertility as well, they may have a long wait list too. You might just want to call and see how long it is. (I had to wait 7 weeks to get into mine)

Personal references mean a lot. I hope you like them as much as the other ladies that have gone there do!

I am sure that I will have to wait a while to get in to see them. I am going to call them and see how long it would take to get an appointment for a consultaion visit. Hopefully that won't be that hard to get.
