If you are 19 years old and you haven’t
gotten your period yet you are probably
experiencing a condition called primary
amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea is a common
term for all conditions where menstruation
is not present after the16th year of life.
Generally, this condition can be due to:
chromosomal
anomalies,hypothalamus/pituitary
disorders, genital anomalies, ovarian
hypoplasia, tumors of the suprarenal
glands, outside factors (infections,
irradiation or chemotherapy) etc.
Several diagnostic procedures (hormonal
analyses, chromosomal examinations,
genital examination…) have to be done to
reveal the reason for your condition.
Therefore, you SHOULD consult a
gynecologist and endocrinologist about
your condition for a diagnosis and
treatment options.
