Ok here is my story....my family has high BP everywhere i look, my mother her mother and father (my grandparents) and my father and his father and mother (my other grandparents) well last fri i went to the doc for a pap, while i was there they checked my BP and said it was really high (156/9Cool so she told me to go off of BC and to come back 4 days later to retake it, well i went back and they said it was fine making my doc think that the cause of my high BP was because of my BC.....so i went and made an app with my gyno to talk to her about an IUD...i go there 2day and on top of them telling me that i cant get an IUD (which is no biggie, i wasnt all about all that pain after reading what other women said) but my BP was back up to 148/92 so im like caca what do i do!?! now the way that my doc explained it to me is that the thing in BC that makes you BP go up is estrogen...so she wanted to put me on an all progesterone pill...the only problem with that is that i have a very big decreased sex drive like mad!! for the past like 3 yrs...isnt estrogen the thing that will not suppress my sex drive anymore meaning that progesterone will decrease it?? i am so confussed i dont even know if what i said was right, i just need help cuz my sex drive is nonexistent and i have high BP....ughhhh!!!! HELPPP!!!!!

Talk to your gyyyyynooooo! Sorry, it was the first thing that popped in my head after reading the title XD

Clearly you have done that. So are you on progesterone-only birth control right now, and that's why you have no libido right now?

I really don't know what to say. I don't understand why you can't get a copper coild IUD as it contains zero hormones and thus should not affect your libido OR your blood pressure.

the gyno said that giving me an IUD would not be a good idea cuz im not married (i guess she didnt care that my bf and i are together for 3 yrs now) and if i did end up having sex with someone else (which i plan on NOT doing) and tht person had an std i would get a pelvic infection....also i havnt had any children....so she said that those are the main reasons that i cant get an iud....rite now im on a lo/ovral....whatever that mean lol.....thank you tho!!!

She's an old fashioned Gyno. Find a new one. The fact that you have never had children has NO say in whether you are a candidate for an IUD.

I found out I have high blood pressure in December when I went to get my annual exam. My doctor inserted a paragaurd IUD on the spot. I have no children. Its not painful either. It felt cold. I felt strange about 5 minutes later though. I started seeing spots, my ears rang, got very cold and started to sweat. I turned white as a ghost too. You might want to have someone drive you home. Also take motrin before you go. Hope this helps.
