The copper IUD can be used for up to 12 years.

It is not FDA approved for 12 years, but my doctor has said that I can use mine for 12 years at LEAST..

The other copper IUD T380 all over the world are sold as 12 year IUD's.

If IUD's are now safe? My IUD performated my uteras, giving me peritonitis and I almost lost my life. That was in 1968. Are they safer now?

OH YES!!

Todays IUD's are MADE DIFFERENTLY, and they are the LEADING birth control method around the world!!

I got my IUD at age 21, and have loved it since.

The IUD of 1968 was made with a string that actually ABSORBED bacteria, todays IUD strings DO NOT do this at all!

ULTRASOUND technology allows us better images of the uterus to ensure proper placement if there is a question.

BETTER SKILLS. Todays IUD's are inserted by people with SKILL. Today's IUD insertions require measurements of the uterus before insertion..

Perforation today is considered an EXTREMELY rare event.
