Sleeping Too Much?
Posted: 01-26-08 17:49pm

Hey guys.

I have a question.

Alrite.

Gabe goes to bed in between 8-9pm.
He wakes up everyday at about 10am.

We eat breakfast, play a bunch,
& then he goes down for a nap at noon.
He wakes up at about 2pm.

We have lunch,
& play some more.

Then usually at about 5, he goes down again
until like 6:30 or 6:45..
Then he has a bath around 7:45,
a bottle at 8, & is in bed right after that..

But sometimes I feel like he sleeps too much?
Like, he doesn't play enough?

Confused

at 10 months Ava was going to bed at 7:30, waking at 7:30. She'd nap around 9:30-11 then again from 2-4.
Every child's different.

Can we switch children please?? If you want one that doesn't sleep you can have Brayden(only temporarliy of course!) Brayden is 11 months and we are lucky if he naps for an hour or two during the day and during the night he probably sleeps about 8 hours, waking atleast 2 times..

Jaylon gets up around 5:30am, goes down for a nap around 11:30am until 3:00pm or so and goes to bed somewhere close to 7:30pm. He usually sleeps through. He's 10 months too.

Every baby is different. I would love to sleep until 10:00!

I guess for some reason I just feel like I'm not spending enough time with him? It's so silly that I feel like a bad mom for letting my son nap during the day! LOL. The days just go by so fast.

It seems to me that Brayden's sleep deprived. He's not sleeping enough. I pmed you with the info I promised like 2 weeks ago. Sorry so late!

I know he IS sleep deprived.. but don't think its because I'm depriving him of his sleep! I'm doing everything to try to get him to sleep. Still no luck even after trying everything you ladies have offered me.. I'm going to read your pm right now maybe I'll learn few more new helpful tips! Because I want to fix this problem SO bad, I know its not healthy!

My kids slept 8pm-8am then had a 1-2 hour nap during the day

The average sleep needed for a 10 month old is 12-14 hours

How much sleep does a child need between six and 12 months?

A child between six months and 12 months old will usually sleep between 12 and 14 hours per day.

sometimes it feels like your child is asleep more then they are awake, my kids usually go to bed at 8pm and wake up around 9am, they both go for a nap around 12-1 for 2-3 hrs. Thats the only nap they have, joseph doesnt always sleep though. And if they have a nap thats less then an hr or no nap if we are busy that day then they go to bed at 7 instead. As they get older it feels like naps are needed otherwise they get cranky and whiny and start throwing tantrums!

Oni slept a lot at that age too.

My best friend thinks her son sleeps too much too. He'll be a year on the 4th and he's only awake for about 5 hours out of the day.

The older he gets, the more awake he'll become!

Milk it while you got it though!!! Cuz you'll be BEGGING for naps when he's older! LOL!

Can we trade children at night please? LOL

I bet he's probably going through a growth spurt. But like others have said, every child is different. If you're worried about it, maybe you could cut out his afternoon/evening nap? I know easier said than done...
