loop diathermy reaction
Posted: 01-28-08 00:04am

Three years ago, I had a loop diathermy to remove some pre cancerous cells. Things have never been the same since. It's like my cervix never recovered. Every time I have sex I feel tense, and nervous, and it'spainful. It's like I can feel my cervix, all the time, when I sit down for long periods it feels uncomfortable. The other weird thing is that I feel tense and anxious all the time, and absolutely exhausted ever since, it happened. I work part time, and then all the rest of the time i just spend lyng down,

After it happened I lost faith in conventional medicine. I couldn't go back to the doctor because they were the ones that had caused the problem. I started doing yoga, every day, because I thought if it could relax all the tension in my body, then it would help me heal. It's helped but it's painful during sex. I'm really worried that I am going to be infertile now. I never heard of this happening to anyone before. What can I do?

I know you don't want to, but you really need to go back and tell the doctor what happened. If they actually did injure your cervix, the yoga isn't going to help that!

I had a loop diathermy not long ago. When I got the ok to have sex again, I found it incredibly uncomfortable and I was really tense.

Worst of all, when he went down on me, I freaked out. BIG style. It scared him too cos he thought he hurt me.

We talked about it, and we're working through it. Just being more gentle and touchy-feely generally. Like learning to trust him again, but I know it's not his fault, but that of the doctors - nothing wrong until they decided to take a chunk out.

Hope this helps?
