So, here is what happened with my
induction.
My mom, Dallas, and myself left here at
10:30 friday evening to get to the
hospital and register and everything. We
get there register and go up to be put in
a room. The nurses come in to take blood
and put in my IV. Now, I already HATE
needles so I wasn't looking forward to
getting an IV for the second time in 2
days. Anyways.. they get my IV in and the
nurse tells me to go use the bathroom
before they put the thing in to try to get
my going. I don't know what the drug was
called but it looked like a tampon lol.
Well, i had to lay there, flat for 2
hours. They told me to rest but I
couldn't. The entire time I slept maybe 4
hours. Dallas slept almost the entire time
lol. But he'd been up for over 24
hours.... So they had to come check my BP
every hour or so and one of the times I
fell asleep i was apparently having bad
contractions that I couldn't feel. After
the 2 hours was up I was up peeing
seriously every 15-20 mins lol. well I
finally get some good sleep and I wake up
at about 6:30 and i'm starving 'cuz I
hadn't eaten since like noon friday. Well
they tell me i can eat something lite but
they have NOTHING good that was lite
enough for me to eat. So I starve until
the dr comes to check me at 10:30. The
drug did barely anything after 12 hours.
So, he said lets try this again next
week.. ok so I go back thursday morning to
try this other drug...that will hopefully
work. I'm mad though. If i would have
dilated 2 more cm. He would have broken my
water..
Anyways, so we go in for round 2 Thursday
morning at 5. So, we leave here at 4:30
am.
oh yeah.SEX/ORGASMS DON'T WORK!!!

Your cervix isn't ripe. What they gave you
was most likely cytotec - a medication
that can help to ripen the cervix. He
cannot break your water because you aren't
dilated far enough and there are risks of
infection if your water has been broken
for more than 24 hours.
The good news is your baby must be fine in
there! So no worries about the NST.

LOL!!!
Well I'm glad the baby's heart rate wasn't
alarming them again! Ya know??
Hopefully you'll go into labor without
needing to be induced!!
And I though you'd be posting piccccsss!!
LOL!

Yeah, he said I was dilated to 1 as before
it wasn't even at 1. He had said to ad
your not dilated to 3 or I could break
your water. DANG IT!! lol. But yeah, I
think that was what they gave me...
Actually Sarah, a few times the heart rate
did go down REALLY low. 88. but for the
most part he was good.
I do hope that I will go on my own and not
need to be induced. I was hoping that the
sex I've had the last 2 nights wound work
but of course it didn't
I was hoping to be posting pics but nope
..
I would have updated sooner but my net is
down so i have to use my moms laptop

If they were concerned about the
heartrate, they would have done something
more aggressive to get your labor going.
So be assured that all is good.
Also, they would have done more than make
you wait until Thursday for your 'next'
round of induction. Are you having more
NSTs before then?

Yeah, his heartrate didn't stay that low
as long as it did on thurs. Thursday it
was that lor for a few mins. It was only
that low for a few seconds this time. I
wasn't THAT worried.
No, I'm not having another NST before
then. I'm sure all is fine with him or
they would have done something more.
The dang nurse had us scared though. She
said we could leave at 11 'cuz they wanted
to keep an eye on the baby a bit
longer..well we didn't leave till almost 1
because they made the dr come check him
out. Scared me to death.

Sounds like everything is fine. If it were
a really big worry, they'd be having you
in every day for an NST.

yeah.. I was hoping. I'm sure I will by
the end of the week though...I've been
getting some pretty good contractions when
I couldn't even feel them before.
Ingi, you're right. I'm not worried about
it. I think that part of it the other
morning was because I was sitting straight
up and the thing wasn't picking up his
heart very well

Never heard of an induction not working
and suprized they offered one to you
seeing you werent dialated much. I had to
be at 3cm before my Dr. would schedule an
induction. I had to get an induction
becuae my baby was overdue and running out
of fluids and room. My cervix was nearly
gone (really thin like 90% effaced) when I
went in so all they did was give me saline
solution and pictocin to start my
contractions. 7 hours later (lucky as a
first time mom!), my son was born! Goodluck with
everything, cant wait to see baby.

yeah it sucked... Well, what they gave me
was just supposed to ripen my cervix and
then hopefully start contractions or what
ever...
The only reason he suggested it was
because on thursday night my baby's heart
rate kept getting to like 120 or lower and
that really bothers my doctor.
Thursday my doctor is gonna give me this
gel stuff but I don't think that will work
after the 6 hours so i'll get another dose
of that and then if the second dose of
that doesn't work we're gonna ask him to
give me the pictocin because this same
thing happened to my aunt with one of my
cousins. The gel didn't work then 3 hours
after he gave my aunt the pictocin my
cousin was here.... So, by friday
afternoon baby Alexander should be
here...
I'm gonna take my mom's laptop and hope
they have internet at the hospital so I
can update...

Your mom could update us since she knows
we are all here - and she has an account
and all. You might not feel up to it.

Maybe when you go in, and they check you,
your cervix will be softer from the gel.
So they won't have to give you the gel
anymore.
I hope, however he decides to come, that
it's not horrible for you.
