Tell them that. I am left handed and I
have to be REALLY specific when I get a
needle jab - because if you've ever
noticed, they always do it in the left
hand. Kinda makes it hard to use your LEFT
HAND when there is a bunch of IVs coming
out of it.
You have to have an IV if they are
inducing you.

Induction = the devil. Sucks man.
BUT, I KNOW she's going to come either
Thursday *OR* Friday.
And Ash is gonna have hers on Thrus!!!

I know I HAVE to have the IV..
They put my IV in my right hand even
though I'm right handed. They only did
that though because I had the IV in my
left arm the day before.
Needles= me freaking out lol
I hope to have this little guy on thursday
 and Sarah, I HOPE
she comes without you having to be
induced.. it'd be cool if both babies came
on thursday lol

I think my WHOLE problem with being
induced is this:
Ok, so let's say she doesn't come by the
6th(the day the Dr wants to induce, 8 days
past my due date), and I chose to go ahead
with the induction. Who's to say she
wouldn't have come on the 7th? Or the 8th?
And BECAUSE I intervened there will be
problems during labor.
I believe WHOLE HEARTEDLY, that she will
come one day this week on her own. But
Baron is CONVICED of the opposite. And it
sucks to have him agree with the Dr when
I'm so set on naturality(is that a
word?).
Maybe I'd be more willing to induce if I
was extreemely uncomfy or in a lot of
pain. But I'm so sick, that I BARELY
notice HOW pregnant I really am.

Then don't do it. Because just believing
the way you believe will cause problems.
Its all in your mind. Women are
supplemented and induced with pitocin
every day all day long all 'round the
world. If you don't want to do it, then
don't. There isn't a medical reason.

I actually agree with that Sarah.. But I
think my doctor has a good reason for
wanting to induce me...
I think deciding to let her come on her
own is good but 8 days past is a good time
to start thinking about induction, that
little girl could start to get to big for
you to have naturally...
I don't see why he agrees with the doctor.
She'll come when she's well and ready.
But if you REALLY don't want to do it then
don't.. stick to what you believe.

That's why she'll come before the 6th and
we won't have to worry about induciton at
ALL! LOL!
I haven't been monitored, or had an
ultrasound from him (since 32 weeks), so I
don't KNOW if there are any problems, ya
know?
I thought that I'd have an appointment
SOONER than a week away, just FOR that
reason. But maybe he'll give me an u/s
when I go in on Monday.

Lol.. that would be great if she came
before the 6th
That kinda sucks... It's pretty crappy
when you don't know if there is anything
wrong or not.. Maybe he will do that
monday when you go in... if you make it
that long :p

Macy was born on the 4th of Feb. and it
was my grandmas sisters birthday who died
when she was like 30 of cancer I think. So
it made my granny really emotional but in
a good way.
Im also left handed and always request the
IV in my right hand with no problem.
Liams heart rate was dropping and they
told me they were going to have to use the
vacuum if I couldnt get him out in 10
mins. Luckily I did cuz his head was
already squash like enough. But he had his
cord around his neck and I didnt get to
hold him for almost 12 hours. It was awful
cuz since I had a cesection with Macy and
didnt get to hold her for two hours and
that was torture so I was looking forward
to getting to hold him like the TV shows.

Macy and my cousin Kylie share a birthday
lol. the only diff. is my cousin will be
six this year and you've said Macy will be
3?
That must have been terrible. You'll get
to hold this one though.
My aunt couldn't hold her youngest for a
long time. His cord was around his neck
like 3 times and he came out and was
really pale and they didn't even hear him
cry.. It hadn't looked good for him... but
now he's a happy active 4 year old.
I hope that's not the case with this baby.
That would scare me to death if his cord
was around his neck

I've been induced with each of my babies,
my body likes to start labor and fizzle
out I guess. Only the first induction was
bad, otherwise I've had very easy, fast
labors. I would think your body is totally
ready by now and maybe just a cervadil
(sp) would do the trick. I've had 2
natural deliveries and 1 with an epidural.
Oh and my oldest son and my husband have
the same birthday ^^.

Relax. Cords are around baby's necks ALL
the time. Doctors are actually trained in
delivering babies and they know how to do
it with a cord without a cord, etc.

True, true, 2 of my 3 so far had a cord
around their necks, Dr.s know exactly how
to handle this.

In my opinion there is always a risk of
having to have a c-section during labor
whether you are induced or not. Things
happen that are beyond our control. Not
always does labor occur as nature intended
it to. People may ask " well when my
grandma's mothers mother was 15 days
overdue she didn't have to be induced" and
their right back than there wasn't any
such thing as inducing but they also had
many more stillbirth rates, babies born
with disabilities and even worse mother's
used to die during the process. Medical
technology has come such a long way in
preventing many of these terrible things
from happening.....thank goodness!!
On the other hand I don't agree with
doctor's inducing because it is convenient
for their schedule, that is just not
right. But I think that sometimes it may
be in the best interest for the baby and
mom. (I am not referring to you Sarah ) My point of this
post is that being induced is not a bad
thing.......sometimes our bodies just need
a little extra push. For the women who are
induced and end up needing a
c-section.....to me I think that there is
always that possibility that they would
have needed a c-section anyways even if
they weren't induced.
Sarah obviously I hope that you don't have
to end up doing something that your not
comfortable with but please keep in mind
that "if" lol you do it isn't as bad as
you may think

I kind of figured that but just hearing
that more babies than I thought have that
makes me feel better and that they turn
out fine...
Actually, this past friday I think
cervadil (sp) is what they tried and it
didn't work.
This time it's something else..

Thanks ladies. I know it's not 100% for
sure that something bad will happen
when/if I get induced...it's just the fear
of the unknown I guess.
I asked my Dr about trying cervadil before
anything else and he said "well you don't
need that, your cervix is waaaay ready.
It's just not dilating."
Mind you, I've progressed a lil more at
each appt. 36-38 weeks I was a "loose
fingertip"
Last week I was almost 2. about the size
of a quarter, or half dollar.
And yesterday I was a full 2. So I don't
understand WHY he thinks I won't go into
labor on my own...He's stupid! LOL!
I couldn't hold Oni for 12 hours either.
But that was because I had a serious
infection with a fever of 103 &
rising...it SUCKED!!

I agree. Inducing because it's convenient
for them isn't right...
In some cases it IS best for the baby. My
aunt had my dr. for her last 6 kids and he
always did right by her so, I think he's
doing the right thing now by suggesting
induction..
We think i'll end up with a c-section
anyways because of his heart rate and
because I haven't dropped A LOT i have but
not like a TON..

Sarah, if I were you, I'd let them put in
an IV PORT, not the IV itself. That way,
they'd have access just in case it was
needed, but you wouldn't be hooked up to
anything. That way they could get meds
into you if you got an infection or
something like last time.
Just a thought...
