surgery for a torn acl and poor circulation Posted: 01-28-08 13:07pm
i havent been diagnosed with bad
circulation other than reynauds disease by
a doctor but my symptoms say it may be
wider spread than just that, my hands anf
feet are both like ice all the time and
even my knees are discolored slightly and
quite cold. if i apply pressure the skin
my hands feet or Knees it takes a bit
longer than people with healthy
circulation for the color to return and
even then the color is a blue/bright and
sometimes blotchy white with red color as
well
i also tend to get cramp in my calves and
the topside of my forearms, but mostly
just my calves and sometimes experience
dullness in my hearing (anyone who knows
about sound might understand this
explination, the lows sound muffled and
the highs sound piercing and overal makes
it difficult to concentrate on sounds and
easily become bother at times from them as
well) as well i sometimes have vision
abnormailities where light seems to hurt
and cause me not to be able to do things
like stare at the computer screen for more
than a few moments and finally altho my
sed-rate is only 9 according to a full
blood panel done in early december, ever
since i started experiencing the cramps
and other things mentioned above i also
seem to be suffering from non-inflammetory
joint pain in my wrists and fingers.
im 25 and i have no idea what my
cholesterol level is because the doc said
my triglycerides were too high to measure
it the number he gave me was 688 a few
months ago. im not the least bit
overweight(6'2" 180lbs fairly toned) but
am a smoker (down to 3-5 a day now) and
take adderall 50mg(20mg 2x a day and a
third 10mg dose) a day for severe adult
adhd and 1mg of xanax a day(either split
.5 2x a day or 1mg at night) for anxiety.
i use to be a heavy pot smoker but have
nearly cut that out of my life over the
past 5 months. also in 2006 i was walking
5-20 miles a day for a few months strait
but this past year and this current winter
especially i've had basicly no exercise, i
currently collect dissability for
psychiatric conditions and tend to be
anti-social unless i have visitors.
now my concern is this, on wensday jan
30th 2 days from now im going for surgery
to repair a possible meniscus tear and a
deffinite torn acl in my left knee that
was injured on october 30th 2007 and am
really worried about the impact the things
i mentioned above may have first on a
reaction to general anestesia and second
how it may affect the recovery and healing
of my knee. i'll be having a cadaver acl
put in to replace the torn one but im
wondering if i should put this off for the
time being and focus on trying to heal my
circulation, the injury is not hindering
my daily activity what so ever. it doesnt
hurt, is not swollen, and is stable enough
to walk on and even hike with without
becoming aggravated. i can jump on the leg
by itself as well as twist side to side
without fear of loosing stability, i can
also go from being on the floor to
standing using the injured leg without a
problem. does anyone have any experience
that could benefit me here? please get
back to me as soon as possible, i'll be
checking this every so often till the
date. thank you in advance
