So Jacobs cousin, who lives with us, has
RSV. She went to the hospital Thursday
night because of a fever, and the JUST got
the test results back. Now I'm REALLY
worried about Jay, she's been around
Noah.
Could this be why she hasn't been
sleeping? She doesn't have a cough... how
long would it take to show up?
I'm waiting for the ped. to call me back
-edited because I'm tired and can't spell
my own name >.<-

*He went to the hospital. not she. I need
sleep.
I don't know much about it either, just
that its really really not something you
want a one month old to get >.< (not
that 5 years old is better)

My 7 month old just had RSV. It's most
contagious 2 to 4 days after someone has
it. Kaylee just started getting really
fussy one day and wasn't sleeping well
(but she would wake up screaming, I don't
know if it's the same for your baby). Then
she spiked a fever at 102 and had a really
runny nose. A couple days after that, she
got a really congested cough. But she
didn't require hospitalization - we just
kept her hydrated and put a humidifier in
her room - it REALLY helped!

I'm not sure when Noah caught it, so I
don't know if Jay was around him then. BUT
she isn't fussy, she just wouldn't sleep.
She'd fall asleep and then wake up, but
she wouldn't be crying she'd just be...
up.

Well I wouldn't worry about it unless
she's unusually fussy, has a fever, or
starts getting a runny nose. Just keep a
close eye on her!

I'm still going to worry But
I do think she's okay, it HAS been 4 days
since Noah went to the hospital...
wouldn't she be showing some symptoms by
now? How long does RSV gestate?

I'm not sure how Kaylee got RSV (don't
know where she contracted it), so I'm not
sure how long it takes for symptoms to
show up.
She had it for about a week. She woke up
one morning (after FINALLY sleeping
through the night again) and felt great.
Most of the time it's not serious enough
for them to be hospitalized - only about
2% need to be put in the hospital.
